Mrs. Seal's Picture
Mrs. Seal, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 25, Personal Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Sales and Support Specialist Engagement Date: December 12, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2011 Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.
About Mrs. Seal

Oh, the photo-booth trend! While booths at weddings are hardly rare finds these days, they’re definitely fun. And while they’ve become more commonplace, there is still plenty of room for individuality and personalization. (Think Mrs. Hot Wings’s DIY photo spot and Mrs. Taco’s vintage booth!) When the Sealman and I sat down to discuss whether or not this was a trend we also wanted to partake in, the conversation was short and the answer was clear.

So, why? Well, photo booths are clearly amazing, but if that’s not reason enough for you, I will gladly elaborate.

  1. Instead of having my photographers spend precious time tracking down guests to pose for pictures, why not let the guests do the work and have some fun while they’re at it (and let the photographers catch more candid shots)?
  2. We’re probably not but hopefully this will change because I desperately want one having a videographer. If I could track down a photo booth with video-message capability, this would perhaps ease the sting and fill the void.
  3. We’re having an open bar. Alcohol + photo booth = hours of post-wedding entertainment!
  4. Our venue has THE perfect spot for a photo booth (a second lobby next to the main hall).

  6. We found an incredibly affordable deal! I think my Google search was “cheap photo booth san francisco.” Instead of ignoring the sponsored ads in the right column as I normally do, I clicked on one with an undeniably alluring price. After conducting extensive research to ensure the company was legit, we booked* (for half the price of other booths I had researched). The kicker? They offer a video-message option. Woohoo!

So, hive! To booth it is!

I’ll leave you with some PB pics of me having too much fun (and making way too many duck faces) with some of my BMs at BM Sarah’s June 2010 wedding:

Will you have a photo booth at your wedding? Have you been to a wedding with a booth? HOW MUCH FUN WAS IT?!

*I’ll release the name of the company once I’ve actually used their services and know that their quality is up to par for the hive.

I love this trend and made sure I had room in our budget for one as well. I found a company up in Sac that was a great price and has great reviews (they travel all throughout the bay area too)! I found they were nearly half the cost of most other places.

Love Photo booths. It’s totally something I want at my wedding… I’m looking at the options of making it.. but am thinking it might be too big of a DIY.
If You want a video photo booth but the odds are finding one may be thin, so why not get a photo booth but then also set up a video confessional in the same area set up your own recorder/video cam. and let people make their privet speeches to you…and the more booze they have the funnier they will be….

Side bar: Photo booths should NEVER go out of style they rock my socks

Photobooths are so much fun! I’ve never been to a wedding that had one, but have horsed around in them at other events. :)

Love love lovvvve photo booths. Since the first wedding we went to that had one, we knew we wanted one at our own wedding! Agreed that they should never ever ever go out of style.

I’ve never been to a wedding with a photo booth, so I think in my circle of friends and family, it’s kind of a WTF idea. So sad. Anyhow, glad you’re having one and found a good deal, to boot!

I really wanted to do a fauxtobooth but we just didn’t have time to get it put together. Ah well.. I can only hope I will get to enjoy the trend through a friend’s wedding soon.

PS- I am dying over the little “HECK YES” baby!!!

My sister had a photo booth for her wedding and let me tell you it was a blast. She had over 200 guests and there was a line the entire night. It’s been 8 months and people still talk about it. She used MJ Photo Booth, I think they’re from Chicago. They were wonderful and very professional.

Our photographers offer a photobooth option (which I think is more like a fauxtobooth. If it fits in the budget we’ll have it! It is just one of those last minute things that may or may not make it in. I definitely want it though!
