I thank my lucky stars to live in such a stunning city that gives me gifts like organic honey lavender ice cream, movie nights in the park, tucked away beaches, legendary record stores, '80s dance parties, awesome sports teams, stellar flea markets, and vintage bookshops. Oh, and I love to dance! We always find every excuse to escape to the beach, and decided a little seaside wedding in Hawaii is our idea of bliss. Full of our favorite people, music, food and sparkly lights, this is one sunset celebration we will always remember.

Best Friends : wedding hawaii rings Rob25 Rob+25

Hive, meet Mr. O’s wedding ring and my wedding ring. That’s them up there, posing for their very first glamour shot…and they’re super best friends. :)

We picked up these besties—who we designed with the amazingly talented Gordon Aatlo—two weeks ago and we were so excited because they looked so FANCY! And very us. Mr. O wanted something understated and classic…and I wanted sapphires infused into a bezeled micropave band, because a) they’re gorgeous, and b) they were the first precious stone (in a pair of earrings) I wore as a gift from my parents.

We couldn’t wait to put them on—look!

{forever ring + e-ring = BFFS!!!}

So that’s them…the BFFS…and they’re sitting pretty in their boxes until they board the plane in 5 days (!!!!!) to Hawaii.

What do you love most about your wedding ring? Did your FI help pick out his ring? I want stories!

Mine doesn’t have a great story, other than it matched my e-ring. Mr. H picked his out though. We went shopping together, and he wanted something that matched both my e-ring and his Aggie ring (sooo, both white and yellow gold), and had some kind of “different” element. The one he picked suits him well. :)

I LOVE your wedding band! Oh, those gorgeous sapphires, and I love how they’re set. Mmmmmmm. *drool*

Ahem. My e-ring has sapphires. I’m a little bit partial to them. =) I also love the white-and-blue look going on.

As for special rings… my fiance suggested using my grandmother’s stone. I went and found a setting I loved. We combined the two, and it’s perfect! The band was more a complementary choice… most of the meaning is in the e-ring. He chose his tungsten ring because he wanted something very durable that could get banged around (he knew himself–if I hadn’t checked pockets it already would have gone through the laundry), but with a small embedded diamond to connect to my ring and have a bit of flash.
