Cake Confirmed

April 22nd, 2011 @ 5:29 pm by Mrs. Pain au Chocolat

Our baker has approved our cake design and flavors! Wanna see which design we picked?

Cake Confirmed : wedding cake wilmington Gendron Gendron

Image via Real Simple / Bakery: Eat Cake Be Merry

We loved the playful, abstract appliques but felt the grayscale was too drab. I like color! So we kept the monochromatic look but are swapping out the gray for shades of happier yellow. I may have even done a mock-up in Illustrator for our baker…

Where to stash the LEGO figurines?

Each tier will be a different flavor:

  • Grand Marnier with raspberry filling (top)
  • Marble with chocolate ganache (middle)
  • Hazelnut with apricot filling (bottom)

I’m sure there will be leftover cake. Who wants a piece?

That is a gorgeous cake and the flavors sound amazing. Thanks for doing multiple flavors too; I am on a one-woman mission to stop single flavor wedding cakes! :-)

OMG I have been drooling over that image since I first saw it! And I love the drab gray. ;-) Though the cheery yellow is also really wonderful.

@TitaniumSpork: Once I tasted all the flavors, there was NO way to narrow it down to just one flavor. Thank goodness we have multiple tiers and an accommodating baker.
@toshella, @Mrs. Pin Cushion & @Miss OceanBeach SF: Hey, you guys have good taste! ;)
@Miss Lox: If cake can survive a few months in the freezer, why not the mail?! (Aren’t you geographically close too? We could arrange a cake meet-up!)
