Hi hive! Just a quick update on the server issues we’ve been having!

If you’ve been around frequently yesterday and today, you’ll notice that the site was armageddoncatastrophybroken for a good portion of the day, and once it was restored, many images appeared broken and continue to appear broken. Our server hosts had a huge blackout yesterday that affected many sites across the web, including Weddingbee. We’re slowly returning to normal, and at this point in time, our host reports that we’ll be completely back to normal in 5-6 hours. Of course, that’s just an estimate, and we’re all waiting on pins and needles for everything to return to normal.

There have been some publishing blips that have occurred as a result (for instance, all scheduled posts just went live all at once for about 10 minutes there!) and we’ve pulled them back to be scheduled as normal—so if you saw a post that you wanted to revisit but it’s gone, have no fear! It’ll be back up soon.

We appreciate your patience, you’ve all been so supportive here, on Facebook and on Twitter! Some of my favorite sites went down yesterday as well, and I never realized how much I relied on them to get me through the day until there was a major outage.

And while we’re on the subject, I know that you’ve all seen the Weddingbee Maintenance Man much more frequently in the past month. Weddingbee’s experiencing an incredibly high volume of traffic (YAY!) that we’re not equipped to handle (BOO!) but tech is working hard to scale the site to a much more manageable size so we can properly handle the influx of traffic. We’ve begrudgingly dubbed him “Mr. Wendal” (thanks to Mrs. Kiwi for the name!) and we hope that we will never see him again very, very soon. A huge thanks to our tech team who works hard to keep up with all that we demand of them here at Weddingbee.
