I am an aspiring foodie with a weak spot for the unusual and I love semi-reality food television. My other loves easily include laughing as a form of exercise, a book that I can't put down, summer baseball games, espresso with whipped cream, couch potato days and nights with the ridiculous Mr. Bacon, and our two kitties, Lincoln and Sawyer. We're planning a faux-destination wedding for 150 of our closest friends and family in the city we've both adopted as home that has a modern, yet whimsical twist and as many personal touches as we can manage.

Flair, Flair, Everywhere!

Now that The Dress has been squared away (erm, again…) it’s finally time to add some flair! I’m actually a bit torn in the direction I want to go with the whole jewelry thing: Fresh and Modern or Romantic and Antique? The dress itself is traditional in shape, but the patterned fabric makes it pretty modern. I think it’s time for the Hive to help me decision!

Here are some examples of “Fresh and Modern” adornments:

Here are some great “Romantic and Antique” options:

Ok, so that’s a lot of inspiration, but do you even remember what my dress looks like? Probably not since there was all that double dress drama, so here’s a little reminder.

So what do you think? Would the modern pieces be too cold for the wedding? Would the pearls look weird juxtaposed next to my modern dress? I need some serious style advice, Hive.

What style do you think I should go with?

You had me at the word flair! “Do you really just want to do just the minimum?” ROFL

By the way that last necklace is amazing. So unique and beautiful!

I … can’t decide!!!! I loved the modern images, then when you got to the classic ones I loved those too! Sorry for my indecisive and non-helpful-ness.

I LOVE the mordern images…I think a bracelet in the marrakesh pattern would be fab with your dress and I am in LOVE with the Moiraklime design — its modern but the pearl adds a little romance/traditionalism.

I voted for the classic, but after re-thinking it & looking at your dress again I really think the Moiraklime on Etsy would look gorgeous with your dress (basically I completely agree with @TribecaBride: :)

I’m all about the classic romance on the wedding day. :)

I wore a necklace similar to the one by CrystalMBoutique on my wedding day. If you go that route and just want to borrow it, PM me and we’ll set it up.

They’re all pretty! I chose the romantic option though, because I fancy myself to be a romantic. But all the options would look lovely with your dress!

I LOVE the big flower necklace by BHLDN. But I also like the Moiraklime necklace if the big flower one is too much for you. I love how low your dress goes in the back! You could also look for a necklace that would drape down your back

I’m totally biased towards the romantic/antique look because of that necklace by LuxeDeluxe! You have a beautiful dress that can stand up to many different styles of jewelry, though–looking forward to seeing what you decide!

I love love love the Moiraklime necklace. And since your overall wedding feel leans toward contemporary, that’s my vote. :)

Personally, I prefer romantic, but I voted modern because I think you’re a bit more modern-y and edgy. Plus, that Marrakesh necklace is ridonc, and I am seriously crushing on the flower with the pearl in the middle. Love love love these, B.

Hmmmm….My two fave necklaces are the Marrakesh from Tiffany’s and the flower from BHLDN…Tough call but I voted Romantic/Antique!

I love, love, love the modern jewelry on their own, but I think in the context of a wedding PLUS as a support system for your specific dress, I have to give my vote to romantic. I like the idea of classic, traditional accessories to complement but not compete with a cool, updated dress look. Either way, you can’t go wrong :)

@Mrs. Meerkat: I really should have posted a picture of myself when I worked at Hard Rock Cafe… I have so many pins that Brian would be jealous!
@TribecaBride: OMG that bracelet is gorgeous!
Really though, every time I check the total votes “Fresh/Modern” inches toward the top! So many choices…

Ooh, I love the littlewhitechapel necklace! And with the cutout design and the teardrop pearl, it could look modern or antique depending on what you paired it with.

I vote for the BHLDN necklace. I think its absolutely gorgeous and a bit modern too with its statement making flowers.

I’m a sucker for romantic and antique. The dress just has so much room for a stunner necklace on that neckline! :)
