Mrs. Jaguar's Picture
Mrs. Jaguar, Sydney Age and Occupation: 27, Primary School Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, IT Consultant Engagement Date: August 8, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2011 Venue: Curzon Hall About Me: I'm an Australian girl who is a self-proclaimed nerd, loves all things stationery and would be lost without books, music and the internet. Mr. Jaguar and I have been together for the past eight years and he finally popped the question last August. Hurrah! We currently live in Sydney, Australia with our adorable cat who thinks he's a person. We're a couple who likes to multi-task: we've been planning a wedding abroad, a permanent move from London to Sydney, and preparing to build our own home all at the same time. Travelling makes me giddy...as does Mr. Jaguar, of course!
About Mrs. Jaguar

So before I say anything else, I have to put it out there: I kind of wish I was still living in London right now. I’d love to be there with all the hubbub surrounding the Royal Wedding! Of course having said that, I remember just how crazy the city gets when big events are going on, so I’m probably better off watching it on TV/streaming online like the rest of the world, but still. All the coverage of London-town during the lead-up to the big day has made me more than a little bit homesick.

Now! Let’s get on with some of my predictions for the big day. Despite the guesses that you’ll soon see below, I actually have NO idea what it’s going to be like—and I think that’s great. I can’t imagine planning a wedding (or having someone/a whole team of someones plan it for you) with all eyes scrutinizing your every move. Props to them for keeping it all under-wraps.

They’re always so happy! Such a cute couple.

I think the overall vibe of their big day is going to be classy, with shades of white and purples. Royal colours! I can’t see her choosing fluffy pink or bold red: purple would suit her perfectly. I’m not sure there will be a theme, but the word I would use to sum it up? Elegant. Since Kate is only having a maid of honour, I’m guessing her dress will be a shade of purple: a long gown, with some kind of sleeves.

I think they’ll stick to traditions for the most part – classic English roses for the bouquet (in shades of white/purple/dusty rose) and I think they’ll have an old-fashioned, separate tier fruit cake. I couldn’t find the perfect image to match, but just pretend that each tier is lifted up on its own level. As for how many tiers, well, that depends on how many mouths they’re feeding: I’m going to guess 5 or 6. The ceremony will likely last for an hour; I think most big events in Westminster Abbey generally last that long.

I can’t even begin to predict what their first dance will be to. I hope it’s something modern, something that’s special to both of them as a couple. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Kate, or should I say Catherine, is going to be a stunning bride, no matter what she wears. I’m guessing her dress will be quite modern, something fitted but with a full skirt—and likely something with some kind of sleeve or feature at the neckline. I see her sticking with tradition and pairing it with a cathedral veil, though not with a blusher: just a simple, 1-tier tulle number, maybe 120″?

I don’t think she’ll wear a tiara, but I do think there’ll be some kind of brooch or jewels in her hair. I think she’ll stick to classic gems for her wedding jewels—classic, but not too flashy. It’ll be interesting to see if she sticks with classic wedding heels (closed-toe) or goes for a ride on the colour-trend bandwagon like many of us modern brides are doing! I am picturing her hair being swept up into a sleek up-do—she wears her hair down nearly all the time in public, so being up & formal would be a beautiful change.

Alright, enough chit-chat. Care for a visual?

These predictions sound good to me, and very right on with the majority of other predictions others are saying. I just want to see the dress!!! :)

Oooh I’m so excited! I have to disagree with one point though, I think she’ll wear her hair down - or at least half up, half down. It’s such a signature part of her look! I can’t help but think whoever the stylist is who’s lucky enough to do her hair would show it off.

I agree with toshella! half up/half down. It’d be a shame to waste that gorgeous hair in a stiff updo.

I honestly think her accent colour will be a deep, rich blue. If she’s ‘allowed’ to have one, that is. Royals seem to favour/be allowed only white.

Also. I really. really. really. hope she wears lace. Probably a-line or modified a-line, and with sleeves (are Royal brides even allowed to have strapless dresses? The last 8 haven’t been). and I’m preeeeeeeetty sure she’ll wear a (very) small tiara. It IS the day she ACTUALLY becomes a princess, after all!

I wouldn’t want to be her; I’m pretty sure 95% of her ‘choices’ aren’t really choices at all, rather what is dictated by royal tradition etc. Yueck.

@bebefly: I wouldn’t want to be her, either. :( She’s got to be one heckuva strong woman to be able to stand up to all that pressure!

Love your predictions, Jag!

they are having 2 cakes. I heard about that on a talk show. One will be the traditional fruit cake and another will be something that Prince William likes better, because I guess he doesnt like fruit cake much?

Also, I think the wedding will be much more traditional and with much less color than you predicted. I bet it will be mostly white, ivory, and cream colors.

I’m totally stoked to see this wedding! As others have said, I’m sure it’s not going to be “Kate’s” dream wedding, but royally traditional “Catherine’s” wedding. Make me appreciate all of the decisions I “have to” make for my own wedding.

Anyone else planning to wake up early and watch this wedding live???

@Roux: I can’t wait to see it too! I won’t be doing the whole pre-post wedding stuff that’s on TV, but I definitely want to check out the styles and pictures.

@Miss Snow Cone: She does a bit! Sleek and glam! :)

@soontobeMrsEschberger: Yes! I’m so keen to see the dress. Always such a big hush surrounding it, it’ll be great to finally see it. :)

@toshella: She may well do! She DOES have gorgeous hair!

@bebefly: That was my second choice - she does favour a lot of navy, and that would look beautiful as an accent colour with lots of whites!

@Miss Tartlet: So much attention! There’s no way I could handle it.

@amariem25: Nothing wrong with white and ivory accents. That’d be gorgeous! I can imagine lots of creams and champagnes, love it! Good on Will for wanting a choccy cake!

@MissCasey: I’m totally planning on watching it!
