Wishi-Washi

April 30th, 2011 @ 6:30 pm by Mrs. Pain au Chocolat

Okay hive, it’s voting time! For your consideration, I’ve created mock-ups of three washi tape patterns: stripes, criss-cross/overlap and plaid. As some predicted, the plaid wasn’t so easy. (Please be kind and don’t vote for plaid. I can’t create 100 of these buggers!)

Starting in the upper left going clockwise, we’ve got plaid, diagonal stripe, vertical stripe, and criss-cross/overlap.

Green washi tape for the vegetarians

I like the flexibility and color layering fun of the criss-cross pattern. Stripes are fun, but not dynamic enough. And plaid would be a pain in the ass.

But I want to hear what you think (since you were right about my bustle!).

Give it to me straight! What’s your favorite?

I think it would even be neat to mix all four patterns! Love the look of the translucent tape.

The criss cross shows off the pretty colors and layers the best. Also you can be a bit “off” and slanty in diff directions (aka do it lazily) and it’ll still look good. If you’re slightly “off” in the other stripe patterns, it’ll look weird. An the plaid is too busy, and not worth the time.

The criss cross is my fave. It gives you the most freedom and I think it showcases the tape best!

I voted for the diagonal stripe, but I think the overlap look is really cute too! I feel like you can’t go wrong with this one, PaC!

I love those colors! I do have a suggestion, though. With the three color schemes you have going on, maybe make the pink the salmon? Blue could be beef! It’s alliterative! The colors you have for beef now just made me think immediately of your salmon dish.

I voted for the diagonal stripe, but could easily be talked into the criss-cross pattern as well. :)

@Miss Giraffe: It’s cheap! And I know you’re creative enough to come up with lots of darling uses for it post-wedding. Am I a bad influence? Maybe.
@Ginevra & @MsYellowJacket: I like the way you think!
@Miss Bacon: I concur!
@Ms. Library: Good suggestion! I should have ordered (more) red washi tape to push the beef color palette more, but alas! Mr. PaC took my credit card and froze it in a block of ice. ;)

The criss cross looks fun and you don’t have to be perfect with how they look (I might be lazy). And you can sing awesome 90′s songs as you criss cross the tape.

I voted criss cross, but it was a close race between that and diagonal stripe. All of them are so interesting, though. Whatever you do is going to be incredible!

I love the criss cross, but a sampling of all would make it all the more unique!
