I adore buying presents for people, but generally have an incredibly hard time buying gifts for Mr. Tartlet. He’ll probably say the same thing about me, which is why the majority of our “gift” giving typically revolves around grabbing a bite to eat. I’ve had two full years to concoct the ultimate gift package for him, though, and I’m wickedly anticipating his reaction when he sees what’s in store for him. I’ll give you one, evil sneak peek Mr. Tartlet:
I like feeling sexy just as much as the next girl, but the idea of being photographed in my skivvies had me near to a panic attack. As always, though, I could count on our lovely photographer to disperse my worries, let me stay within my comfort zone, and I ended up having a lot of fun! The plan is to give the boudoir album to Mr. Tartlet the night before our wedding over a bottle glass of raspberry dessert wine (a thoughtful and unexpected gift from a woman in my aerobics class whom I’ve dubbed my “gym mom”). Here’s one of my favorites from the shoot:

Mr. Tartlet has been dropping not-so-subtle hints about wanting to break out some cigars later in the evening during the reception. Problem is, I had no idea how to go about getting them. Weddingbee to the rescue! After reading Mrs. Husky’s timely post and recommendation for a store, I purchased a box of Romeo and Julieta Vintage #1 cigars that will be given to Mr. Tartlet the day of our wedding. I also ended up getting him a lighter and cigar cutter, since apparently you need them to actually smoke a cigar (bear with my ignorance; I’m a total cigar nooblet):
And finally (like I said, waaaaaaaaaaay too much time to think about these things), remember how we’re spending some time in Dublin as part of our honeymoon? It turns out one of the big soccer games in Europe (the UEFA Europa League final) is also taking place while we’re in the city. Mr. Tartlet being the dedicated soccer player that he is, I just had to get tickets.
Goaaaaaaaaaaaaal!
We didn’t really discuss exchanging gifts, but Mr. Tartlet is familiar with my habit of pouncing at the opportunity to buy presents for people. Will he get a gift for me? No idea. But, I get to marry the man (on Friday!!!)—and that’s more than enough for me.
How did you and your SO approach gift giving?
