One of the things that was super important to us when choosing a photographer was finding someone who included an album in the package. I can be pretty cheap and figured I may not want to spend the money months after the wedding, so I knew I had to include the price up front. I’m really happy I did because if you read this post, you may know that I probably would have cheaped out on it.
We went to pick it up the other night. Here is a peek into the pages of the Starfish wedding album:

I saw the album layout before it went to print, but I was absolutely blown away seeing it in person. The pictures just pop on the page.

When I saw Mrs. Tiramisu’s post about her album, I fell in love. I loved that her album coordinated with her wedding colors. I didn’t think to ask how the album process worked when we booked our photographer, so when I saw hers I wished I had asked. I ended up forgetting to ask about it after that, so I was really happy when our photographer contacted us about our album choices and asked what color album we’d like. We went with a navy color and white wording. He also asked how we’d like our name and date on the front. Having the album coordinate our colors and our names on the front is just a tiny detail, but I love it.
We were able to choose 80-100 of our favorite photos from the wedding. We had just over 1000 professional shots and I had such trouble narrowing it down. Dave ended up letting us do 125 because it was super hard to cut it down beyond that point.

We were both surprised by the weight of it. I’m a big fan of the thick pages.
If you really want a professional album, make sure you think about this when booking your photographer. We spoke with photographers who included it in the package and others who did not. The latter seemed cheaper at first glance, but when adding on an album in some cases, it ended up costing more.
If you go with a photographer who offers albums in the package, make sure you see samples before booking. Even though I didn’t ask about the process, I did see album samples and was really happy with the quality. I didn’t think to ask whether the albums he showed were standard or if there are upgrades at an extra cost, but that would be a good question to ask, too. I liked that our package included everything and we didn’t have to worry about additional costs.
