Gifting the Girls

May 4th, 2011 @ 9:41 am by Mrs. Tartlet

Continuing on the train of thankfulness and having far too much time on my hands during our long engagement, I’ve also been continually on the prowl for bits and bobbles I could include in my bridesmaids’ gift bags. Although I gifted them the jewelry they’ll be wearing for the wedding day (thanks to a killer deal on Ideeli), I really wanted to go above-and-beyond for the ladies who have been there every step of the way, and who are currently keeping me sane.

These mini-tote bags were purchased from The Wedding Chicks shop during their 50% Holiday sale. The current style is slightly different, but equally adorable! Inside the girls will find the following:

Cosmetic bags, purchased from Rue La La

Wallets (that I tried to tailor to their favorite colors), purchased on eBay and also at Coach Factory Stores (make sure they hand you that additional 30% off coupon when you walk in the door!)

Initial pendants from one of my favorite designers, Elsa Peretti, also via eBay

If it were me, I probably would have thrown the necklace on without a second thought, but I did thoroughly sanitize them just in case my BMs were not as comfortable with wearing a once-loved item. However, I purchased them so long ago that this week I discovered that they had started to tarnish and needed to be polished (yikes!). I’ve also included a thank you note to each gal in the bags, but no matter what I can’t help but feel like I’m not doing enough for them in return for all of their support, generosity, and good humor. I love them dearly, and hope I was able to keep the vows that I made to them so long ago when I first asked them to stand by my side.

Does anyone else feel like no amount of thanks or gifts will ever be enough for what your friends have done for you?

Wow, those gifts are awesome and I’m sure they will love them. I love the different colors Coach wallets!! I understand what you mean, I love these girls and I hope I am not driving them too crazy and that they will really appreciate what I’m gifting them.

I’m also trying to start buying little things here and there. I’m known for my love of makeup, though, and have begin purchasing different pieces that I think they will like.

So far, I have purchased Shu Eumura eyelash curlers and a mini emergency kit. I may also be buying a cute cosmetic case like the above or wallet/wristlet. I then want to get them some of my favorite MAC eyeshadows that I will tailor to their colors and some lip glosses that I know each girl will love, along with some of my favorite makeup brushes.

@crystlrox: Your gifts sound so fabulous! Your girls are going to love them!
@canuckbee: I didn’t know that! We have one about an hour away from us, and I totally would have done that instead of home polishing. Good to know!
@Miss Pony, @Miss Candy Apple, @Ice Cream Sundae, @Crown, @Miss Elephant: Thanks so much, ladies! I’m really looking forward to giving these to them tomorrow. :D
