In Which I Worry for Nothing

May 4th, 2011 @ 10:14 am by Mrs. Hyena

Remember how I was worried about my wedding band looking weird against my e-ring? No? Well that’s probably because I didn’t tell you. I was WORRIED. Even after they emailed me the picture of what my wedding ring was supposed to look like separate from my e-ring, I wanted to see what they would look like together. I went to the designer’s website but couldn’t find my exact set. Instead, I found this:

In Which I Worry for Nothing : wedding college station rings Screen023

(source)

It’s a lovely set, but not exactly what I had in mind for my own wedding ring. I wanted my band to sit closer to the basket of my ring, not flush against the top of the ring. And I also wanted it to look more symmetrical. Who knew I was so picky about jewelry?

So there I was, worrying we were going to have to get a second band to make my ring look even, and worrying I was going to hate it. A couple months ago it arrived at the jewelry store. Mr. Hyena wants to keep it there a little while longer, since it’s still insured while the store has it, but over lunch one day we went to go visit it, try it on, calm my fears, etc.

It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect.

I’m going to wait until I actually have it in my possession to go photo crazy, but don’t worry—I’ll get pictures up as soon as I can. :)

Have you worried a ridiculous amount about a particular aspect of your wedding? What was it?

Yes I actually did worry how my band would look against my ring. I have a ring that “LOOKS” as if it has two bands attached (front & back) but it’s one ring! Then, I did not want to foot the cost for getting a band custom made so I decided on getting a store band. All I knew is that I wanted an eternity band. All ended up well & I love my band. I just can’t wait to wear it! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials.

Yep, my fiance actually purchased both rings at the same time so I got to try on my band with the engagement ring and it feels so weird! The band pushes up the other ring too high on my finger. I’m so afraid I won’t get used to it. Am I worrying for nothing or should we look for a thinner band maybe?

I was in a similar boat - I knew which band was meant to go with my e-ring, but I was nervous about how it would look/fit/feel… and, just like you, all that worry for nothing. Now I’m ready to wear the friggin thing!!

@coasterkim: Are they meant to be a set? If so, I wouldn’t worry about it. If they’re not, and you think it’ll bother you, maybe keep looking?
@Miss Snow Cone: ME TOO! Only a couple more weeks and then it’s mine all mine. *mischievous grin*
