Mrs. Cotton Candy, Riverside, CA Age and Occupation: 29, Field Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 34, Process Server Engagement Date: July 5, 2007 Wedding Date: June 2011 Venue: Riverside Art Museum About Me: I’m a girl in love with her best friend planning a small mid-century modern inspired wedding that’s been a long time coming. I love all things design, sewing, flea markets, and a good book. I’ve been known to swoon over a well-designed chair and often find myself craving a new addition to my chair collection regardless of the lack square footage in our home. I’m Mexican American girl who hates all things spicy but loves her rowdy Mexican family and her Latin roots. My wedding muses may not be your typical wedding superstars, but with a lot of DIY, a dash of offbeat style, and lots of love and laughs, Mr. Cotton and I plan to create a day that is unmistakably us.

Shower Time!

May 5th, 2011 @ 11:22 am by Mrs. Cotton Candy

I’ve said it before Hive: I have the best bridesmaids on the face of the planet and there is no great evidence of this than the amazing shower that they threw in our honor this past weekend. Bridesmaid S and SD (who happens to be 7 months pregnant with her first baby!) thought of everything from a perfectly coordinated candy buffet, to yummy homemade sweets, a plethora of tasty wines and spirits to get the party going, and even went as far as having a professional photographer to document the day!

Wonderful details!

Plentiful booze, thanks to Sister CCandy!

After some drinks, munchies and mingling, we decided to play some games. Now I’m not a huge fan of wedding shower games but I did request that we play the my favorite shower game—the toilet paper wedding dress game. Since our shower was coed, BM SD’s mom had the brilliant idea of having the boys as our models—best idea ever!

Gotta get the group shot in!

Our guests were amazingly generous and presented us with some amazing gifts and I’m so grateful to be able to call this group of women friends and family. I can’t wait to party down with them at our wedding!

Are you having a co ed shower? How are you including the guys?
