As I have mentioned several times, I am not the most calm of individuals, and panic semi-easily. And by semi-easily, I mean I startle like a rabbit when Mr. CA walks into a room. Seriously, my heart sometimes gives a massive jump, and then beats at 129803 beats per second for the next three minutes. I may need to see a doctor about this.
Anyway, this also means that I frequently make impulsive decisions. So, as soon as I discovered the Taryn dress from J. Crew, I panicked a bit because obviously we needed to get the dresses rightthissecond, and immediately emailed my ladies to let them know that I may have found something to wear on the big day. Just to jog your memory a bit, I was crushing on this dress:

Perfect color. Perfect style. I loved it.
And I thought my girls would love it too.
I just knew they would all look amazing in this dress. But, I also wanted my gals to be comfortable—they will be wearing the dress all day, after all, tromping around on grass, standing for an hour at the altar, kneeling in the church, jumping around on the tennis courts, dancing the night away. You know the drill. In light of that, and taking into consideration their various (fab) styles, I figured some of them may want a bit more coverage than the Taryn afforded.
So, when I sent them a long, rambling email regarding the BM dresses I was considering, I told them to check out the following dresses along with the Taryn:
{Silk Chiffon Sophia dress from J. Crew}
{Silk Chiffon Juliet dress from J. Crew}
{Silk Chiffon Arabelle dress from J. Crew}
After having visited J. Crew’s website and checking out all of their Silk Chiffon dresses, I realized that I had a slight preference for the Arabelle—I just liked the style, and how it fit on the model. However, while I loved the Taryn and Arabelle dresses, I wanted the ladies to be comfy, and able to show their personalities a bit in the cut of their dress. I also liked the idea of same color, same fabric, different styles. Win-win, I thought!
So with those ideas in mind, I booked an appointment at the U. Village J. Crew while I was in Seattle for our super-packed, crazy weekend of wedding-planning goodness. All of my BMs, aside from BM Braeburn, were able to join in the fun. Just to recap, here’s what we were working with, all in silk chiffon:
1. Arabelle dress from J. Crew
2. Juliet dress from J. Crew
3. Sophia dress from J. Crew
4. Taryn dress from J. Crew
Four dresses. Four bridesmaids. Should have been perfect, no? Wonder what happened… (I’m such a tease! Don’t worry guys, I’ll let you know what happened soon, I promise.)
Did you choose any of the J. Crew dresses for your BMs? Which of the above is your fave style?
