I’ll admit, I’ve been panicking a little bit over my first dress fitting.
Panicking because my dress has been so snug. Panicking because despite working my butt off with diet and exercise, I’ve been staying the same size. Panicking because I wasn’t sure of the costs involved with alterations. Just plain panicking.
This afternoon, I headed to our local bridal store with my MOH-extraordinaire, with dress, shoes, veil and super-sucky-inny-undergarments in tow, ready to suck it in and pin it up. And thankfully as the title of this post suggests, IT FIT. [insert a huge sigh of relief here!]
I put it on with my wedding shoes and it’s being hemmed to match. The seamstress is also going to add a basic bustle at the back of the dress, just straight up. It’ll be done in three weeks, which will leave time for a final fitting/check two weeks before the big day—and I’m really excited to see how it fits then. Best of all? The price to get it all done was really reasonable: around $180 for everything. Huzzah!
Now… how about some pictures?
Mr. Jaguar – turn away now. Just 37 more days before you’ll see it for yourself!
The dress, from the front. Please, PLEASE ignore the awkwardly placed feathery hairpiece—not mine, but shoved in by the seamstress. I have my own pretty flowers ready to go, that I forgot to take along with me.

And from the back:

I’m really happy with the way it’s fitting—thanks be to my waist/hip sucking underwear. And do you recognise the gorgeous veil I’ve paired with my dress in these pictures? This belongs to the lovely Mrs. French Fries, and I think it looks BEAUTIFUL and oh so glamorous with my dress. It’s one of my ‘Something Borrowed’ pieces that I’m most excited about.
How did your fittings go? Were you as incredibly nervous as I was?
