Mrs. Earrings's Picture
Mrs. Earrings, Fresno, CA/ Nelson, New Zealand Age and Occupation: 20, Student, Wannabe Writer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 19, Photography Student Engagement Date: February 14, 2010 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Gardens of the World About Me: I'm a girl from down under who grew up in Indonesia and I'm marrying a California boy. I'm addicted to all things sweet, have never met a chocolate silk pie than can get the better of me, and have dreams of one day being a fulltime novelist. I go weak in the knees for lace, tea cups, and a beautifully crafted sentence. When I get excited about something (whether it is historical linguistics or the Beatles) I tend to go overboard in research, and planning this wedding is no different. Mr. Earrings is my high school sweetheart, my best friend, and somehow we combine all our quirks into one big happy mess.

A Midsummer Dream: One for the Kids : wedding new zealand pictures pro pics recap T827 t827

We had 10 kids at our wedding, and luckily for us our photographer managed to catch some pics of them in their best (and craziest) moments. Can you handle the cuteness?

Little B (above) was definitely not shy about posing for the camera!

Neither was Baby Jake for that matter. He snazzed up for the day with a tux t-shirt.

Some ducklings even showed up! (guest photo)

The cupcakes seemed to be the highlight of the day for the kids.

Little O (orange shirt) is Little B’s twin brother. Those two were partners in crime the whole day.

The sloping sides of the grass “ampitheatre” where the reception was held was perfect for running and rolling down. I was tempted to join, but I don’t think my dress would have been forgiving…though neither were the dresses of my flower girl and her sister. :)

At the end of a long day filled with cupcake smears and grass stains, the little princess in white above was transformed into this:

And, really, isn’t that what we all feel like after a long day? Running around with our shirts over our heads? I know I do. Just kidding. Kinda.

If you had kids at your wedding, what crazy antics did they get up to?

We had a bunch of kids at our lakeside wedding, as well. Everyone showed up dressed up, but quite a few of the kiddies ended up in their underwear in the lake. If was actually quite funny. I guess it’s just hard to keep them from having so much fun!

Love how the ducklings showed!

Kids are so cute but I am afraid they are going to break something…. and some of the kids in my family are major trouble makers. We are thinking about doing an adults only wedding, but that means so flower girls or ring bearers… I’m not sure who they would be anyway. But I’m glad the kids at your wedding had fun and hopefully they didn’t cause too much trouble (you can tell I don’t have any kids of my own yet!)

@bree72: Ha! That’s hilarious!
@Coffee Bean: I was worried about things being broken/ destroyed by them too at first, but thankfully the open space of a garden seemed to keep them occupied. Actually it was some of the adults who were more destructive than the kids!

I love all the kiddo pics. We will also be having kids at our wedding and am hoping we will get some equally delightful pictures of them.

This is why I love kids at weddings! Makes me wished I lived in a less rainy country so I could have a gorgeous outdoor wedding like this
