First things first, what better way to start this post than with a little Barney action?
This morning saw Mr. Jaguar and 2/3 of his bridal party hitting the bridal stores in search of the perfect bridal duds. I tagged along, in part to make sure the colours they chose matched the girls’ dresses, but also mainly to check out my soon-to-be-hubby decked out in a suit. Nothing suits him like a suit. (Mwahahahaha.)
We’d been looking online for suits for a while now—mostly in the form of stalking wedding photography websites to yoink inspiration from other weddings. Mr. Jaguar was torn: he wasn’t sure if he wanted to stick with a classic black suit with a coloured vest/tie combination, or go with a grey look suit with a more neutral/ivory shirt and tie. Decisions, decisions. Well, inspiration means nothing until you go and see it in person, so off we went.
First things first, he didn’t like the grey suits. I brought in one of the bridesmaid dresses with me, and while it looked okay, it was just too much grey. Grey on grey on grey again, didn’t really work in this situation. Instead, he opted for a really smart looking black suit. The question remained: to match his groomsman, or to wear something that made him stand out as THE GROOM?
The final verdict was that the boys will wear them same style suit (in black!)—the only difference being that Mr. Jaguar is going to vest up with ivory, and the groomsmen will be in matching grey, a similar shade to the bridesmaids. I’m yet to decide if we’ll change to ties to something patterned or not, but I actually like them just fine as they are.

This is Mr. Jaguar in ivory, and two of his men: Groomsman D (our super wonderful replacement!) and Brother Jaguar, complete with all his piercings.
The whole thing took less than an hour. The suits have been measured up, ordered and paid for—now all we have to do is wait for the Best Man to jet in from London the week before the wedding, so we can check his measurements and pick up the rest of the suits. I think they look pretty snazzy, and they all seem pretty happy with them. {Side note: see? I told you Mr. Jaguar looks damn fine in a suit!}
How long did it take your significant other to find their wedding suit/frock?
