… with our church!
With only a month left before the wedding, there’s been a whirlwind of activity around these parts. Most of the big things are done, but we’re getting into crunch time now. I decided to steal away with Mama Jaguar for the day, and try to cross a few things off our to-do list. First on the agenda was paying a visit to our little sandstone chapel.
Ah, our church. Have I mentioned how much I’m in love with this beautiful building? I’m sure I’ve raved about it once or twice before. Yep, I definitely have! They’ve just done some refurbishment around the chapel, putting in matching sandstone paving stones and re-doing the concrete driveways and parking areas, and it looks just as stunning as ever.

The main reason of my visiting the church was to pay off the balance of our ‘donation’ fee for the wedding, but also to look at a few other things. I needed to book in a time for our rehearsal, in the week before the wedding—all done now for the Tuesday evening. I wanted to check and make sure the construction was just about finished, just so guests would have enough parking ready to go.
And most of all, I just wanted to head inside and refresh my memory of what the church looked like. To find out where our musicians are going to sit. To check out the length of the aisle and have a rough idea of what that nerve-wracking walk is going to be like. (It feels a LOT longer than I remembered from last time!) And to suss out the size and width of the first few pews, so I could make the final decision as to what I was going to decorate them with.
Instead of going crazy with tulle bows and sashes, we’ve decided to keep it simple. The interior of the church is gorgeous enough as it is, so we don’t want to overwhelm it with BRIDE STUFF OMGZ. Instead, we’re going to have our florist whip up some simple clusters of baby’s breath to hang from the first three pews on each side.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how it turns out – there won’t be many, but it should just add a nice little POP to the inside of the church. We’ll be using those flowers in a few different ways on the wedding day, they’re so simple but look so good in photographs.
How did you decide what to use to decorate your aisle?
