“If you have much, give of your wealth; If you have little, give of your heart” - Arab Proverb
via f5torefresh.com
Let’s start off with a flashback to my convo with Mr. O about wedding party gifts:
Me: “Hey babe, what do you want to give the guys for their groomsmen’s gifts?”
Mr. O: *distracted watching MLB network* “Groomsmen’s gifts? What are those?”
Me: “Ummm…you know, little thank you gifts for being in the wedding.”
Mr. O: “Like what kind of gifts?”
Me: “Well, typical gifts are money clips…”
Mr. O: *shakes head*
Me: “…engraved flasks…”
Mr. O: “Nooooo”
Me: “…cufflinks”
Mr. O: “Seriously??? Could we do something more…us??”
Me:“For sure! Let’s go on Etsy and check some stuff out…”
A few clicks later, I found this and flashed it in front of Mr. O:

RELIEF tees by Blue Dream
Japan RELIEF Tees, by Etsy seller Blue Dream, printed on our favorite tri blend American Apparel Tees. They were $35, and 100% of the proceeds go to the Red Cross Japan Relief Fund.
Let me explain why this tee is very us:
* Two of Mr. O’s groomspeoples were born and raised in Japan:
- One of them, GM T, still lives in Tokyo and was there at the time of the quake and had to move his wife (who’s expecting their second child) and little daughter to Osaka because of the nuclear disaster.
- The other, Groomsgirl O—his best friend since high school—still has all of her family in the surrounding Tokyo area.
* Mr. O spent months living and studying abroad in Japan. He studied Japanese in college and traveled there post college for a few months as well.
* We traveled to Japan six years ago and for 10 days. Mr. O and his GM T introduced me to the dazzling city of Tokyo and its surrounding area, where we ate endless ramen, partied in Roppongi, shopped in Harajuku and Shibuya, visited temples and climbed Mt. Fuji. It was one of the most magical trips we’ve ever experienced together and have always planned to return.
Mr. O looked at my laptop screen for what seemed like forever. Then, he and quietly nodded. Yes.
So there it was—we bought 10 of these tees, one for each person in our wedding party (and I got a few more little gifts for my BMs, too)…and two for the Ostrich duo. It was the best $$$ we’ve spent yet.
Are any of you doing donation gifts or favors for your wedding?
