X O X O

Just ordered: 40″ silver mylar balloons!

X O X O : wedding decor wilmington Balloon Balloon X O X O : wedding decor wilmington Balloon01 Balloon01

Via Amazon.com, for purchase here and here

Several months after I’d decided we must have GIANT balloons at our wedding, I spotted them on super sweet engagement shoot:

But I didn’t worry about originality. Because, in my mind, I thought of it first…before seeing it in wedding mags or blogs. So it counts as an original idea. (Even though there are no original ideas. Just really cool borrowed ones.)

They’re intended for use as a photobooth props, but if they make their way out onto the dance floor… I may have to take one for a spin. Up, up and away!

By the by, if you’re interested in pricing: Amazon had the best overall deal, although I almost ordered through BulkBalloons.com (shipping and handling costs more than the products?) because their balloons were only $6.

What whimsical things have you purchased for the wedding? Are you playing with scale (miniature or HUGE) at your reception?

XOXO,

Miss Pain au Chocolat

So I have been trying to find a wonderful way to use balloons and everyone thinks I am nuts because they can’t envision it but now I finally have my mom on my side! I think I will need to borrow this idea as well :) It was totally yours first!

Mr. High Wire’s mom ordered a banner for us and it wound up being quite large on accident. It was out for our engagement party and will definitely be on display for the wedding!

I LOVE THESE! And I’m totally with you on the - “it’s original if I thought of it before seeing it on wedding blogs”. I’m think i might borrow this really cool original idea too!

@TheFutureMcBride: The scale of these 40″ balloons next to a baby would make for some great shots!@Falcon: The balloons come in gold too!
@Miss High Wire: What was on the banner? Playing with scale is fun!
@Mrs. Starfish: Fingers crossed the guests will play with them. Throw a few drinks into the mix and I guess it’ll happen.
@Miss Snow Cone: I also checked the local party stores. No one carries letters but they all carry numbers. I couldn’t find a way to make the numbers work for the wedding. (hah!)
