A long time ago when I talked about our colors, I shared these inspiration pictures to show that I wasn’t completely crazy for wanting to have a red and green color scheme:

You can imagine my excitement when I realized one of the wedding blogs I read/drool over featured this wedding on their main page a few weeks back. As I gleefully looked through the images of the couple’s beautiful day, I realized that while red and green was a prominent color combo in their invitations, it was not featured in their wedding.
I am not criticizing their choice because their wedding was gorgeous and I am totally jealous of how fun and awesome it looked. (They used a trebuchet for the garter toss…how awesome is that?!) I was just hoping to find some great color inspiration for our wedding.
So, I am back to looking for my kindred spirit when it comes to our wedding colors. Any takers?
My colors were hot pink and navy, but I think you can totally pull of the red and green, but I def thinking using an accent color will make it less “holiday-y” - looks like they used brown in the invitation suite above. (Not sure if you had planned for an accent color or not, but just an idea!) Anywho, if there is one thing you could borrow from that wedding - the time capsule! How cute is that??!

@KCheer: We’re actually having grey as our accent color to break up the holiday feeling. I love their time capsule idea, it would be so fun to read those letters years from now!

Have you ever seen The Perfect Palette blog? She has a page where you can click on a color and see inspiration boards with that color included. That portion of her site is blocked at work, but here’s the link to the main site:

Then, just got to “Search by color” and click on either red or green!
@mcolli0415: Awesome! Those are the kinds of colors I’m going for in my wedding. It’s great to see somebody else use them.
@tntrav44: I’ve checked out the perfect palette, but unfortunately there isn’t much in the way of red and green combos.
Hmm..I thought I’ve seen them on there. But maybe the ones I saw were too Christmassy. I’ll do some digging when I get home. I think a Southern red/green/grey would be gorgeous!

You should also check out http://www.snippetandink.com/ and http://www.stylemepretty.com/
they both have a lot of inspiration just try searching for your colors on their sites.
I love the inspiration you have from when you first told us what your colors are.

This wedding is gorgeous and they did an awesome job incorporating the colors, but not going too over the top with them.
Miss Pony, my colors are black, green and red! I’m using red as more of an accent color, but without a doubt those are my three colors. I’ve definitely received a few funny looks when describing it, but I’m so excited!
The knot has done some cute green and red color palettes, one was lime and cherry to be exact. I don’t know if that’s what your looking for. Have you tried snippet and ink?
I’ve seen the colors done really well also, Pony. I think it’s going to be beautiful!
Not what we’re doing (lots of green but speckeled with wildflowers - no true palette - just simplicity in the garden here) but I love your color scheme!

If we would have chosen a spring/summer wedding date, I totally planned on doing the cherry/lime color scheme! I think it is so adorable! I can’t wait to see what you come up with so I can see what my “second wedding” could be like!
