Mrs. Seal's Picture
Mrs. Seal, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 25, Personal Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Sales and Support Specialist Engagement Date: December 12, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2011 Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.
About Mrs. Seal

…to a Seal invite teaser session!

Gah! I really want to share our invitations with you right now, but I’d hate to spoil the surprise for our guests. However, since I am asking you all to wait four months for the big reveal…how about a bit of a sneak peek?!

Like Mrs. Lioness and Mrs. Lemon before me, I’ve decided to invite a couple of VIPs. As these are people who likely have lots of invites to swanky soirees rolling in on a daily basis, I thought it best to send out their invitations a few months early ;) With any luck, I hear you actually get some pretty cool keepsake responses.

First up: The Obamas!

You (and the Obamas) are Cordially Invited... : wedding invitations san francisco stationery Img 138 IMG_138

The Honorable Barack Obama and Mrs. Obama

The White House

Greetings Office, Room 39

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Washington, District of Columbia

20500

It was too early for me to send the invites to our calligrapher to hand address so I just sent these two bad boys through my printer.

Since Mr. Seal and I are Disney nerds, the second invite hiding under there is to Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland. The poor thing got a little smudged when I ran it through the printer and I can’t afford to “waste” another envelope. (Most calligraphers request 10-15% extra envelopes to account for errors, and well, I’ve only got about 9% extra right now. EEK!) Anyhow, it’s readable enough for the postal service, I just couldn’t bring myself to post a photo of the tarnished envelope.

However, if you’d like to send one to your favorite mice, here’s their address:

Mickey and Minnie Mouse

The Walt Disney Company

500 South Buena Vista Street

Burbank, California

91521

And just for being the amazing hive that you are, here are a couple more preview pics of our invites!

Teaser of the actual invite!

[Etiquette police: I know you’re not technically supposed to indicate "Black Tie" on the invite...but, well, we did.]

I love how nicely our invitation suite came out and cannot wait to share the rest of it with ya! In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated on the status of our VIP responses.

Are you guys inviting any VIPs?

Pretty! I invited the Obama’s too (at least 6 weeks ago) but haven’t received anything back yet. Maybe they wait closer to the wedding date?

Oh wow you make me feel very behind we haven’t even assembled out invites and the wedding is in August.

Now I will go home and pester my FH about getting ours done. I’m sure he thanks you immensely.

I received a card from the Obamas. I also sent one to Disney World (instead of DL), but the certificate I got back had the wrong wedding date on it ^^;;. Still deciding if I should send another invitation or just let it be lol.

We invited the Obama’s too but haven’t received the reply back yet. Hoping we do though! What a great keepsake to have. Even better if they come to our wedding!

Can’t wait to see more of your invites! We sent out our VIP invites in December, wedding was in April and we got the response from the white house the day before or day of our wedding.

Nope, but we stuffed the dress suggestion at the bottom of our invites too. FH is too neurotic that someone will show up in jeans or something (those people are on his side anyway)

My invites just went out yesterday and I invited the Obamas too :) I secretly hope that they’ll be in the Boston area on or around July 9th, do a security sweep, and decide to pop on over to our wedding to say hi! (hmmmmm ya right… I can dream though!)

Great idea/reminder about Mickey and Minnie! I think Disneyworld is my most favoritest place on earth, so maybe I’ll use one of my extras and invite them too :)

I have heard about sending an invitation to the President and Mickey & Minnie and many people get a reply. I am totally doing this. I’m a HUGE Disney fan.

Wait, am I nuts? If you didn’t indicate that it was black-tie, how would people know that? I never assume a wedding is super swank unless I’m told…. am I super out of the wedding etiquette loop??

I invited the Obamas too and everyone thinks I am crazy! We are both liberals from Massachusetts and he still said, “Why are you wasting an invitation on them?” My students were not impressed either. OH well! I think it is fun!
