Mrs. Balloons's Picture
Mrs. Balloons, Aspen, CO Age and Occupation: 24, Mass Communications graduate, Web Design student, & winery worker Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Engineer Engagement Date: July 10, 2009 Wedding Date: August 2011 Venue: The Sundeck at The Little Nell About Me: I'm a small-town Midwest girl planning an intimate mountaintop destination wedding complete with a huge DIY at-home reception. As an honors graduate fallen victim to the worst job market in history in my area, we're doing everything we can to still have the wedding of our dreams on a tighter budget. I currently enjoy working at a winery, but I'm lonnng overdue for a day job! I am: a big-time daydreamer, one of the pickiest eaters you'll ever meet, and a lover of pretty paper and awesome fonts. I'm a girly girl who loves to get dolled up, but also a country girl who loves to get muddy and go 4-wheeler riding. I also enjoy singing in the car, boating, going to concerts, the History Channel, carnival food, and going to watch St. Louis Cardinals baseball with my handsome engineer.
About Mrs. Balloons

I was literally jumping up and down when I opened the box. I don’t have a picture capturing that exact moment, but it went a little something like this:

Guess What I Got in the Mail?! : wedding aspen decor Ball1 ball1

Yes, chandeliers make me that excited. After swooning over wedding receptions with chandeliers hanging from the trees, I knew it was something I had to have. It would be the perfect touch to take my reception from rustic to rustic-chic or rustic-glam. So here’s my new love:

I ordered it from Save on Crafts for only $20! I’m sure you know how expensive chandeliers can be, so I was pretty stoked to find them on that site for such a good deal. I only ordered one because I wanted to make sure that it was good quality and that it looked as good in person as it did online. I have to say, I’m impressed. Ordering was easy, shipping was quick, and the product that arrived looks exactly like it does online. (Which is probably hard for you to tell since my pic was taken with a crappy cell-phone camera…) Here’s a pic from their website showing what it would look like with candles:

I’m definitely going to order some more, but I just need to decide if I want to order all of the same style, or if I should mix it up a little and order some of the other styles that the site offers. Anywho, here are some pics that inspired me to have some tree-hanging chandeliers of my own:

Any fellow chandelier lovers out there? Are you incorporating them into your wedding anywhere?

I love these!! The tent that is housing our reception actually has two big giant chandeliers hanging from the ceiling :)

I LOVE those chandeliers. I picked my reception venue almost entirely because of the fabulously large chandeliers that are hanging in the ballroom.

I recommend checking out thrift stores if you decide to mix it up. A lot of times you can find those generic (kinda ugly) chandeliers that come standard in houses. A quick dose of white spraypaint and some dangly bling can make them look awesome!
Also, IKEA has a chandelier named KRISTALLER for only $39 - I think it’s a little bigger than the Save-On one, but you’d have to check.
Good luck!

So pretty! I vote you mix it up because I think it would add to the rustic-chic look, but $20 is a great deal, too. Either way you can’t go wrong!

I would like to say that I love you! Although I didnt plan on using chandeliers, this site is the best and I didnt know anything about it. Took a quick glance and see quite a few things I could use for a good price! Thanks again!

On one hand I think it’d be super cute to mix them up throughout the venue…on the other hand - WHAT A DEAL @ $20! Tough choice!

Beautiful! Chandeliers definitely came into play when we picked our venue. :)

Oh my God this is gorgeous! I drooled over quite a few pics of reception chandeliers and it never even crossed my mind that it could be possible to actually achieve the look. I mean, 20 bucks?! Great deal! I say use them all the same, mostly because the pictures of chandelier receptions that I so adored had the same one all over and it was to die for just as was. Either way, perfection!

OMG Save on Crafts rocks my face off! My florist friend turned me on to it, and I’m obsessed. So good to know their product is true to the pics!

Are you going to use real candles in your chandeliers outside? I’m getting married in Evergreen in August, too, and I really want to have some elegant, standing fire pits outside. But I’m soooo paranoid it’s going to be a dry summer and they’ll put a fire ban out!

Ohh, I love chandeliers! Chandeliers in trees…. it looks just dreamy! I wish we could do something like this but it doesn’t really fit our venue or make sense for us… and I would have trouble coordinating buying something like that from overseas. I think I’m just going to live vicariously through you Miss Balloons and appreciate your amazing decor!!
