Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!
About Mrs. Cardigan

Ahh, the moment everyone had been waiting for. Time to eat cake!

I don’t think there are enough words in the world to describe how much I adored this cake. It was exactly what we had asked for, and we were so happy with how pretty it looked—and how amazing it tasted!

We had several cake flavors and we weren’t quite sure how to communicate to our guests which ones were which. Luckily, as has been established many times before, Sister Cardy is a creative genius, and she came up with the perfect plan.

Simple, clear, and cute!

When it came time to actually cut the cake, I realized we had a slight logistical problem on our hands…

That would be me trying to explain to Mr. Cardigan that I am entirely too short to reach the cake! Luckily, we managed to make it work…

We managed to get a small slice, and we (very sweetly) fed each other. I had made it very clear to Mr. Cardigan before the wedding that there was to be no face-smashing!

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure if he was going to listen to me, so even up until the last few seconds I was reminding him that I did NOT want cake in my face!

Can you see the fear in my face? I was totally afraid he was going to mash it into my face at the last second!

Luckily, he was very sweet with the cake and didn’t get any on me. What a good husband. :)

That’s my “Oh my goodness this is SO GOOD” face. And there’s Mr. Cardigan going in for a second bite, because the first wasn’t enough.

We were oh so happy with the cake…but the important question is, were the KIDS happy with it? After all, they had been anticipating it much more eagerly than we were!

I’ll take that as a yes.

You realize I live a short drive away from unlimited amounts of these cupcakes, which makes these pictures particularly cruel.

The more recaps you post the more I have a crush on your wedding. lol The cupcake tower is so cute, and what a good idea for the different shaped wrappers.
