About Mrs. Balloons

Ladies, I cannot for the life of me find wedding shoes! I did not think that it was going to be this hard! Nothing is jumping out at me. I had my mind made up from the beginning that I didn’t want traditional bridal-y shoes…I want something fun that I’ll wear again.

Sparkly shoes seem to be the trend right now…

…but just not really what I had in mind. Since I’m getting married on a mountaintop, I envision something more nature inspired.

I do love these Badgley Mischka heels!

Buuuut with a $200 price tag, they fly right out the window as an option…

I actually did find what I was looking for: fun, with a little whimsy and a little color.

But of course they are out of stock on every single site that they are on!

Oh how I wish I could be a part of the red-sole club, but there’s no way I could afford Louboutins…

Here’s another pretty floral pump…but it only comes in black or red. Definitely wouldn’t go with my color scheme.

I have been searching for months, and I’m starting to think that I’ll never find my shoes. I really need to get it figured out soon, though, because I need to get my dress altered, but I want to have the actual heels I’ll be wearing so that the length can be altered properly. I’m thinking about going the DIY route.

Maybe I could start out with a pump that I like.

And then add a pretty flower like this one:

Did it take you long to find your shoes? Where did you end up finding them? Anyone else DIY-ing their shoes?

I’m on the hunt, too! Had my heart set on little yellow satin slingbacks with a bow, but of course only bright lemon yellow and rich mustard are in this season! Boo.

Not sure if it’s your style, but Aldo has some cool heels right now with a lot of texture and girly details. And from experience, I love Aldo heels - comfy and good quality!

Don’t worry! You will come across THE shoes that are perfect for you. You still have time and you can always DIY if you find the right shape/model even if it’s not the right color.

I spent months looking for shoes! I wanted green shoes to go with my wedding color and to be a surprise under my vintage-style dress. I ended up buying white shoes and had them covered with a lovely green fabric I found. My mom helped doing the ruffles the original shoe had in the fabric I had them covered with. You can find pictures of them in my profile galleryXD

It took me forever to find the right shoes. I wear size 11 so that was part of the problem. I had similar problems where ones I liked were $250+ or out of stock everywhere etc. I think Zappos or Endless are good places to look even though some of the shoes are very expensive.

I also had problems finding bridesmaids shoes that would work for everyone. I would say about 1/3rd of all the time spent planing my wedding was related to shoes :(

Shoes are still on my long list of “to-do’s”—I feel helpless. I love the plain pumps + shoe brooch option—a super cute, totally affordable route :D

I could never walk in any of those shoes, but I’m drooling over all of them. I love the cut of the last pair.

If you love the Badgley Mischka’s then these RSVP ones are pretty close at a considerably lower price!

I am immediately reminded of Luichiny “Gim Me”
http://www.6pm.com/luichiny-gim-me-champagne-satin (I know it’s not a flower, per se, but maybe you’ll like it) and DIY shoes are always perfect because you can start with something you like and add what you want (how can you go wrong?!)

I actually bought my shoes before I bought anything else ;p I found a pair I LOVED on Zappos and bought them. They have a great return policy–you can return them 365 days after you buy them. And you can exchange them for a different size for free. And shipping is free. It’s just unbelievable.

I bought the ones I liked asap, and figured I’d return them if I found something better. So far, I havent!

Youll eventually find the pair you love. You just have to be patient til the right ones come along! :) (I love the idea of adding a flower to those shoes btw!!!)

My shoes were the first wedding related item I bought! I fell in love with them on a wedding blog…and found them online, but they were a bit expensive. Then one day I was shopping at Macy’s, and they were half off, and they had my size! I couldn’t pass them up!
