Mrs. Snow Cone's Picture
Mrs. Snow Cone, Pittsburgh/Johnstown, PA Age and Occupation: 23, Public Health Graduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Engineer Engagement Date: April 9, 2010 Wedding Date: August 2011 Venue: OMOS Church ceremony/Sunnehanna Country Club reception About Me: I’m one of the lucky ones---I met my future husband at the ripe old age of 13, started dating him as a mature woman of 15, and have been enjoying the ride ever since. Here we are, 8 years later, living in Pittsburgh, planning a "homestination" wedding in the place our school romance began---Johnstown, PA. I thrive on talking a mile a minute, eating my weight in chocolate, and internet shopping. I love a lengthy to-do list almost as much as I love a healthy amount of chaos in my life. Mr. Snow Cone and I watch countless episodes of Friends and The West Wing on repeat, root for rival college sports teams, and make each other laugh each and every day. We’re putting together a small-town wedding with a big personality and a classically modern (or modernly classic?) look for 250 of our closest family and friends. It’s been 8+ years in the making, and sometimes I still can’t believe I’m finally getting to marry my high school sweetheart!
About Mrs. Snow Cone

Over my months of wedding planning, I’ve been repeatedly humbled by my seven extraordinary bridesmaids. None of them has batted an eye at offering support when I request it, an opinion when I need it, or a distraction when I really need it. Equally impressive, but in a different scope, is the time and money each of them is spending in order to attend the shower, bachelorette party, and wedding. Even though I’ve only been a bridesmaid once, I definitely have an acute understanding of how much goes into this role. I searched high and low before finding a gift that I thought matched my style, my BMs’ style, my level of gratitude, and my budget.

Snow Cone Bridesmaids—

You Gotta Go!

I really wanted to give the bridesmaids something with a decent degree of permanency. I didn’t want to gift them something that would be tossed out at the first post-wedding apartment purge. I was dorkishly enchanted with them having something that would see them through many years; even if they didn’t gaze upon it and fondly recall our wedding, I still liked the idea of them just having it years from now, period.

Oh, and in addition to permanency, I liked the idea of playing up the label whore in all of us. I don’t really think they’ll mind.

Tiffany Plaid Bowl ($40) via Tiffany & Co.

The way I see it, this is a pretty stellar solution. I think all of the ‘maids, regardless of their personal styles and lifestyles, can use a classic crystal bowl with clean lines. I see them tossing anything in it from spare change to car keys. It’s small enough to fit in even the tiniest apartment, but it’s large enough to serve a purpose and be a nice piece of crystal. Best of all, in order to maintain the pristine Tiffany blue box and white ribbon…I don’t have to exercise my abysmal gift-wrapping skills on these gifts! Everybody wins!

What are you gifting your ‘maids?

My wedding’s not ’til next spring, so I’m not sure what I’ll get them, but the little blue box is always a surefire hit!

Beautiful! I’m also looking to Tiffany’s. I only have my wonderful sister as my Matron of Honor and my FH’s neice. I’m between the silver key charm necklace or the double heart necklace…haven’t decided yet.

I’m so not a label whore, but you can’t go wrong with the little blue box. Love your choice of gift! Not only is it useful, cute and practical, but also very reasonably priced.

@Kcoleybear: can’t really go wrong with Ms. Spade!

I got this as an engagement gift! Well not this exact plaid bowl, but a Tiffany crystal bowl with hearts. I was so excited about it- I am sure your girls will love it! Who doesn’t love seeing an extra-big blue box??

LOVE!!! that bowl - well done!

I went the jewelry route - but I designed the jewelry myself. I didn’t make it b/c well I’m not that crafty (one step above a noodle necklace).

I used their initials and birthstones. Check out - http://www.egjewelry.com/store/design/mary-catherine-customizer.php
