Table for 16

May 25th, 2011 @ 12:05 pm by Mrs. Pain au Chocolat

The last time we talked about this project, I’d just found the silk flowers to honor our grandmothers. Because we’re short on time (OMG! 10 days left!!), how about we fast forward a bit?

Table for 16 : wedding decor family wilmington Hunt Table

This is the hunt table where our photos, guestbook and escort cards will be displayed. Lest you worry like I did that it won’t be large enough, let me tell you this is one beefy table. As in, 10.5 feet long by 3 feet wide. Plenty o’ room.

We did a mock-up of just the family photos and guestbook last night on the largest table we own—a 6’ folding table typically reserved for big parties. Sorry Mr. PaC, the beer pong table will be in use for the next day or so. (Please ignore the silver poinsettia tablecloth. It’s much better than the naked table.)

The items on the table represent a range of projects: wine bottle vases (in this case, hurricanes), silk flowers, the family photos and the yet-to-be-blogged guestbook.

Here’s a closer look at some of the details. Once on the wider hunt table, our photos will have a little more breathing room.

Mr. PaC and I decided laying the blooms on the table in front of the corresponding photo made the most sense and offered the least cluttered view.

Everything is packed away in labeled boxes awaiting setup just mere days from now. Seeing our projects come together is going to be so rewarding!

What projects are you working on this week?

My FSIL and I worked on painting some wooden birdhouses and letters this past weekend. It was fun!

This is going to look so great on that table Miss PaC! We should be working on invitations, but we’re slacking right now.

Pretty! How did you decide whose wedding photos to put out? I decided I’d like to have a wedding photo display, but I’m not sure where to draw the line. Just the parents/grandparents/greatgrand etc? All family? Grandparents + any married couples attending?

I love it. It is such a lovely way to honor your grandmothers.

@Miss Cinnamon Bun: We did parents and grandparents. If we’d had wedding photos of great-grandparents, we would have used those too. For the regular display we used only parents, their parents, etc. No cousins, siblings — the table isn’t that big!
