Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!
About Mrs. Cardigan

The entire dance portion of our night was amazing, but I will say that there were two songs that stuck out in my mind as favorites of the night.

The first was Bohemian Rhapsody. Kind of a random song to play at a wedding, I know, but it was played at Bridesmaid Audrey’s wedding because we used to rock out to it all the time with our friends from college. Bridesmaid Audrey, her other bridesmaids, and I stood in the middle of the dance floor at her wedding and screamed along to the lyrics while everyone looked at us like we were crazy. So, it was only appropriate that we played it at our wedding too.

Our guests didn’t seem to mind.

The photos will be taken to a whole new level if you listen along while you look.

At one point, Daddy Cardigan came out to the floor to ask me what in the world we were doing (his taste in music is questionable, at best), so I dragged him into the chaos and forced him to dance along for a few minutes.

The other favorite? A must-have at any Aggie wedding.

The Aggie War Hymn. When our DJ started playing it, I happened to be outside trying to cool off, but as soon as I heard the first few notes, I sprinted back to the dance floor because I could NOT miss it.

Of course, if you aren’t familiar with the song, you must play it while you look at the photos. And if you are familiar with the song, I know I don’t need to tell you to hit play, because you probably already have.

(I couldn’t find a video that started from the beginning of the song, so it starts a few seconds in)

These two songs made up just a few minutes of the wedding, but they make up some of my favorite memories of the entire night. We were surrounded by people we love, having the time of our lives. Isn’t that what a wedding reception is all about?

Quuen is one of me and my fiance’s favorite band and we really want to have a few of their songs played at our wedding. I am so glad you did too!

That is my go-to karaoke song with my BFF. Make’s me think of Wayne’s World which is probably where we first learned it.

Love this! It reminds me of my wedding, and some of my favourite moments too - us all belting out ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey, and ‘Mr. Jones’ by Counting Crows! Such a special memory! :-)

Love it, love it, love it! We have similar pictures from our wedding of “Don’t Stop Believing,” and of my bridesmaids and I doing our traditional “line dance” to “Oh What a Night!” Some of my favorite pictures.
