Mrs. Earrings's Picture
Mrs. Earrings, Fresno, CA/ Nelson, New Zealand Age and Occupation: 20, Student, Wannabe Writer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 19, Photography Student Engagement Date: February 14, 2010 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Gardens of the World About Me: I'm a girl from down under who grew up in Indonesia and I'm marrying a California boy. I'm addicted to all things sweet, have never met a chocolate silk pie than can get the better of me, and have dreams of one day being a fulltime novelist. I go weak in the knees for lace, tea cups, and a beautifully crafted sentence. When I get excited about something (whether it is historical linguistics or the Beatles) I tend to go overboard in research, and planning this wedding is no different. Mr. Earrings is my high school sweetheart, my best friend, and somehow we combine all our quirks into one big happy mess.
About Mrs. Earrings

A Midsummer Dream: Picnic Photo Shoot for Two : wedding new zealand pictures pro pics recap Img 590 IMG_590

As the end of our wedding day approached, Mr E and I snuck away for a few minutes to take advantage of the summer evening light for a few more photos. And I’m so glad we did, because even though we were worn out after a long day (and my jaw was so sore from smiling!), these moments were priceless, and they resulted in what I think are my very favourite photos of us from the day.

We strolled through the garden and the fountains, then over the bridge that we had been married in front of just a few hours before.

We weren’t completely alone (even though it felt like it at times!). There was our photographer of course, and the groomsmen volunteered to carry our picnic props around the garden…

… They even had an impromptu tea party under the trees! Don’t they look sweet? :P (guest photo)

Then it was our turn for a little picnic photo shoot. We spread a blanket (crocheted by my great grandmother) on the grass and set out our tea cups and picnic basket.

Our few moments were up all too fast, and soon we headed back to the reception to say goodbye to our guests.

Next up: The getaway!

That second picture looks like it should have a little Cinderella-esque cartoon bluebird holding up your veil. Just too perfect!

that first shot is absolutely stunning! What does your husband’s ring say, if you don’t mind me asking?

@gill84: It says “siorghra” which is a Celtic word for “eternal love” :)

I lived in Nelson back in 2009 and I never visited Gardens of the World, what a fool! We are holidaying there in the July school holidays so I am definitely going to check it out, and will have to make a point of going back when we visit in the spring or summer. The gardens look absolutely gorgeous and your wedding was beyond perfect! Congratulations on putting together such a breathtaking day :)

Those pictures are amazing, and I love the shots of the groomsmen… they look so Victorian-gentlemanly.
