I talked earlier about wanting to have a more informal gathering the day after the wedding for relatives that have traveled a long way. We decided on the menu by thinking about ease of prep, and shortcuts we could take. I started thinking about having everyone over, and knowing that I’d want the house to be clean… and realising that I probably wouldn’t want to be scrubbing the toilets and vacuuming in the week leading up to the wedding. The same day I had this thought, the daily Groupon for Calgary was for a maid service. Fate!

I snapped up the Groupon, and just booked a 3-hour clean for the Thursday before the wedding. Friday I think I’ll want the freedom to run like a crazy woman wherever I need to in the house. The boys will be getting ready in our house, but Cinnamon Buns has promised not to make too much mess. I think the house will be cleaner than it ever has before, because it’s 900 square feet, and we’ve got 3 hours of cleaning booked. She’ll have to clean around the pile of wedding gack though.
