My parents like to tell the story of when they took my brother and me to garage sales when we were youngins. While all the other children would be checking out the toys and games, Little Miss Pony would be checking out the shoes. Yep, shoes.
My love for shoes has been a lifelong affair that I don’t see ending anytime soon. It’s only natural that I would obsess over finding the perfect shoes to wear on my wedding day. And obsess I have.
These were my first loves:

Bold yet feminine, these pretty red pumps made my heart skip a beat. I began lusting after them long before I had a dress, knew our colors, or was even engaged. (I told you, I’m a shoe person.) But, alas, it was not meant to be. These beauties boasted a hefty price tag and, while I waited for a good sale (and, you know, to get engaged), they were discontinued.
After I bought my dress I had to reevaluate what my wedding shoes should look like. Obviously, I would prefer them not to clash with the style of my dress and I wanted to keep the heel on the shorter side at around two and a half to three inches. Anything more would make my dress too short; plus, my feet will appreciate the shorter heel after the raging dance party we’re having at the reception.
Keeping these ideas in mind, here are some of my current favorites:

Stuart Weitzman Turalu in Scarlet Satin via Zappos
Nina Conabel in Red Rouge via Endless
Nina Forbes in Red Rouge via Endless
Butter Charisma in Red via Endless
The Staurt Weitzman Turalu has been the object of my obsession since my first loves were discontinued. They are the right color and the right height, and are simple enough not to compete with my dress. I even purchased them once, only to be heartbroken when they arrived damaged from shipping (dye noticeably rubbed off), and were no longer available to exchange for a new pair. And, since I can’t justify nearly $300 for a pair of shoes, I’ve been searching for a sale or a replacement. So far I haven’t had success finding either.
I thought shoe shopping would be hands down the easiest, most fun part of wedding planning, but it has proven to be much more difficult than I anticipated. And with a little over three months left, I’m getting anxious to find a fabulous pair of shoes for our wedding, but I will power through, somehow.
Which pair is your favorite? Which pair do you think goes best with my dress? What do your wedding shoes look like, or are you having shoe issues, too? I love talking shoes, so let’s dish!
