I feel like I should have all these epic last minute DIY projects or surprises to unveil here before the wedding. In truth? It’s more like an ever-growing list of random ‘Stuff-I-Have-Forgotten-About-Until-Now’ & they are far from fun or exciting. I’m okay with doing things at the last second, which is a good thing considering the amount of ‘little things’ I’m now chasing up. Liiiiiiiiike these ones:
- I’ve spent the last few weeks panicking about how to inform our guests of which table they’re sitting at for the reception. I wanted to keep it simple and do a row of folded cards, but Mr. Jaguar was unusually vocal about not wanting to do it that way. (Why? I have no idea.) Thankfully, a few Bees have stepped in to help me out with this one – once everything is printed, I’ll share how it turned out!
- Programs & Place-cards: they’re being done today in a giant marathon sitting. My mum is heading over to our apartment, I have the programs printed and ready to assemble, and hopefully all will be well soon. If I never have to look at another piece of ribbon again, I’ll be happy!
- Mr Jaguar’s brother arrived in Sydney from London just this morning, and we’ve got to organise his final suit fitting and make sure everything fits based on the measurements he sent us from overseas.
- The venue needs us to drop off ALL of our wedding goods to them by Tuesday (OMG) – so I’m hastily making sure everything we’ve bought and got ready to put to good use over the last 18 months is packaged up, complete with letters of instruction/assembly. I sort of wish this wasn’t needed so early, but eh, that’s what they say.
- Groomsman gifts! I left this up to Mr. Jaguar and he’s still yet to finalise them. I also want to get a little something extra for my Maid of Honour, as does he for his Best Man.
- The rehearsal is coming up on Tuesday, so we’ve got to get everyone prepped for their readings and get used to OUR part too. I’m so nervous about saying it right!
- I’m in the midst of putting together a wedding day information sheet, ala Mrs Daffodil. We don’t have the most extravagant of wedding weekends, so we probably don’t need one, but I like the idea of having it to give to the parents, bridal party members and vendors. It’s organised. I like organised.
- Get packing for the honeymoon! It’s ridiculous, but I keep forgetting that this time in a week or so, we’ll be flying out to Vanuatu. Life has been so busy with teaching, report writing, and wedding plans – this honeymoon is going to be a breath of fresh air.
Confirmation emails have been sent to our big vendors. The honeymoon is expecting us, our transfers are arranged. The rehearsal is set for Tuesday, and the dinner is booked at a local pub that has excellent reviews.
I’m sure there are more bits & pieces that I need to do, but for now, I’m just going with the flow. There’s not much else to do when the inside of your brain looks like this:
