Shoe Mouse

June 5th, 2011 @ 4:10 pm by Mrs. Cinnamon Bun

So I thought I had my wedding shoes all sorted out. I have shoes, they’re gorgeous, they fit, what more does a girl need? Well, when an awesome shoe store is mere blocks from your house, a girl should be on guard. A girl should not go in to browse for cute summer sandals and fall in love with:

Adorable mouse flats in my wedding teal!! (Mouse flats by Marc by Marc Jacobs, at Gravity Pope)

I hadn’t really thought about flats for the reception, but now I want them so badly! It’s the combination of adorable mouse, and the teal colour, because normally I am 100% against jelly shoes. These ones I love though. If only they weren’t $150. But THE CUTE! They even have little tails:

Having said that I’m 100% against jelly shoes… I’ve never owned a pair. Maybe I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover? Maybe I need to own a pair of rubber shoes before I can make snap judgments like that. Yes, if I buy them, it will just be in the name of making educated judgments.

How necessary are reception flats? Would you wear mice under your dress?

Something about these reminds me of Cinderella, although I guess the mice are her friends so she wouldn’t wear them as shoes. But so adorable!

Those are so cute! I say, in this case, very necessary. Imagine the shoe pictures! :)

Jelly shoes sweat. Big time. I can’t wear them for long, my feet just feel gross.
What do I know though? I wore heels through our ceremony, switched into wedge flip flops for our photos because the ground was still soft from a recent flood, and wore those through our special dances, and maybe the first hour of our dance. After that, it was barefoot bride for me ;)

I have to agree with mrsjesse….they will make your feet sweat and the shoes might rub the wrong way and cause blisters. They are super cute, though. Too bad they weren’t patent leather or something else. Good luck with your shoe search!

Those are so cute!!

I agree with the reception shoes are a must! I kicked my heeled sandals off during the reception and had filthy feet by the end of the night since I didn’t get flats!

these are SO adorable!! i looked them up on endless.com, they’re cheaper, but they don’t have them in teal :(

i do agree that they will make your feet sweat, but if you’re not opposed to cute ankle socks with them (maybe those fishnet or lace vintage looking socks?) you can baby powder the socks before you slip into the shoes. that might help.

Mice!
Adorable.
Also, I have some Melissa y Campanas jellies that are super comfortable AND don’t make my feet sweat at all. Maybe Marc is putting out those type! I say do it- I wanna see the pics!

okay, lemme tell you! i bought these EXACT same flats for the EXACT same reason! adoable, teal and… adorable! HOWEVER!!! they’re going back. i hadn’t owned jellies either and thought to myself that they can’t be that bad, especially if they’re this cute! but, they just aren’t that comfy. after prying my tired toes out of 4 inch heels, i’m going to want something cushy to dive into and these are NOT it. they’re hard and they make a squishy sound when you walk. probably not noticable at a reception, but they’re still not comfortable! they’re scented too. i don’t know if that’s a plus or minus, but methinks it’s because they’ll make your feet sweat. i could also forsee blisters in them so yeah… as cute as they are, they’re destined to be returned. hope this helps!

I would wear anything Marc Jacobs under my dress. Or over my dress. Or at any other time for that matter. If you buy them, you will surely wear them again.

the only thing I dislike about rubber shoes is that, when the rub against each other, it sounds like a fart. that is all I have to say on the matter.
