- Shop Weddingbee
Like many bees before me, one of the first things I started shopping for was The Dress. Naturally, I turned to the Internet to begin my search!
Long before I had an inkling what Weddingbee was, I typed “wedding dress” into Google, and my eye caught on this red dress by Maggie Sottero.
(Fiorenza by Maggie Sottero) Sadly discontinued now!
I was intrigued. So fiery. So hot. So unorthodox! As my first dress crush, I dreamt about this scarlet beauty and wondered how I could get my hands on her in Switzerland. A quick search revealed that you could order her from bestbridalprices.com, but unfortunately Maggie Sottero does not allow international orders. Rats.
Fascinated by the thought of an unconventional coloured dress, I searched for other red wedding dresses.
(Amara Royale by Maggie Sottero) Also discontinued now. Seems Maggie is doing away with red…

For a brief instant, I thought about how it would be fitting to wear a red dress to our wedding. I mean, we live together guys. Unmarried, against the wishes of our Catholic parents. We’re baaaad. By the time we will walk down the aisle we will already be married legally for some time. There’s no pretending I’m walking down that aisle a chaste woman. Red seems like the perfect colour for a “scarlet woman.”
Look at these girls wearing Fiorenza!

If you hadn’t noticed by now, most of those pretty brides above have dark hair. I realised that the red probably wouldn’t look great with my complexion anyway and part of what I love about Fiorenza is how well it goes with the women’s black hair. I’m a pale white brunette, so I don’t think I’d be achieving any of the Spanish beauty qualities I was daydreaming about. It wouldn’t be worth trying to buy internationally. I even looked to see if Fiorenza interested me in white…

It didn’t. (Via StillWhite)
Despite the fact that we wouldn’t work well together, I did continue to ogle my first crush for months. *Sigh*
