A New Photo Slideshow

June 9th, 2011 @ 3:27 pm by Mrs. Cinnamon Bun

This idea is one we had way back in the early part of our engagement. We thought it would be fun to do a photo slideshow of us growing up, and I thought it would be neat to find similar pictures of us—everyone has a picture of them as a baby with chocolate pudding or cake or something all over their face, right? But, we didn’t want to bother with a projector, and making it a big thing that we will all watch now… I can’t remember now who came up with it (my bet is on Cinnamon Buns) but the genius idea is this:

Digital photo frames.

Photo from Future Shop.

The idea is to buy two matching ones, load them up with photos of us (me in one frame, him in the other), and time everything out so they cycle through the photos in the right order at the same time!

They can just be somewhere in the room, so people can circulate and watch for a bit, go away, come back, watch more, etc. We bought two frames for cheap off of Amazon during their Boxing Day sale, and we actually loaded one up with our engagement photos and put it in our living room for now. It’s a lot of fun to watch!

I scanned up a selection of photos of me when we were at my parents’ over Christmas, and this week I’m going to go through Cinnamon Buns’ photo albums and scan some of his stuff in to the computer. Here is me as a very tiny Cinnamon Bun (with a very large head. Nothing much changes.).

I wasn’t really sure where we were going to display these or how, other than on a table of some sort. Then I had a genius idea! That I’m saving for the next post though.

This is a really great idea! When you put it together, you should post some of the pics.

we’re doing the same thing but with just one frame… we’ll have the pictures go back and forth between the two of us.

This is such a great idea! I would so do this with our iPads if I wasn’t worried about them getting knocked over.

We’re doing baby picture table numbers - Table one has pics of us at one, fourteen has pics of us at 14, etc

This is an amazing idea - I was wondering what we could do to have some sort of entertainment during the cocktail hour and this would work perfectly. Plus they would be ours so we could use them in our home after! I am totally going to “borrow” this idea :)

OMG! You’re a genius!!!!! This solves my “I want a baby photo slideshow but I can’t have a projector” problem!

I could hug you! How is it that I have sold these things for years and I never even thought of it?
