About Mrs. Zebra

Pre-Zee The Day Before

June 11th, 2011 @ 5:00 pm by Mrs. Zebra

I jumped out of bed at 6 AM on Friday, March 25. My bustle was finished and I was getting married! If you’re keeping track, that’s a grand total of 3 hours of sleep. I had stocked my fridge with 5 Hour Energy drinks in order to keep myself afloat in the week prior but I certainly didn’t need it. I was high on life and that will keep you awake and aware for as long as you’ll allow it.

I ran to the gym to get a quick cardio workout in before heading over to the nail salon for a day of pampering with my bridesmaids and close family.

We went home and relaxed for a few hours with our friends/house guests. Our Priest Friend had arrived, whom we haven’t seen in way too long. We had a wonderfully lazy afternoon, a small nap, and then it was time to get ready for the rehearsal. I padded the schedule with a half hour in order for everyone to be early to the church rehearsal. The church is difficult to find in the city so I did so with the best of intentions. Except for in the case of my mother. That woman will be late to her own funeral. Love you Mom!

I did not, I repeat, did not want to be that bride crumbling under the weight of her wedding the night before. I’ve seen it happen. I asked everyone to please shut their yaps and spare me a bitch fit at the church. Everyone obliged. (You may think I’m joking, but I’m not.)

We hammered out the church rehearsal quickly due to my handing out a schedule to our family and bridal party two weeks before.

After the church, we then headed over to Spain in Cranston, RI for our delicious rehearsal dinner. I had asked that Zeb’s mother and father handle all the details and they did so beautifully.

I showed Zeb his groom’s cake. It was the only thing I successfully kept secret from him. It was a replica of the bar in our basement.

It was an amazing feeling to be at our rehearsal dinner, with our close friends and family, enjoying each other’s company.

Then we went home. I quickly changed, gathered my belongings, and kissed my fiance goodbye, for the last time. The next evening we would be husband and wife, eager to start the rest of our lives together.

I totally agree about the cake. I’m not sure which is more awesome - that cake or the fact that you have a bar like that in your house.

I just had to tell you I cried when I read “Then we went home. I quickly changed, gathered my belongings, and kissed my fiance goodbye, for the last time. The next evening we would be husband and wife, eager to start the rest of our lives together.” It was so sweet.
