I gave up on light purple with my last pair of shoes and decided to take things a little darker.

First up was Christa:

I thought they were modern and fun, but I barely got them on my feet before Mr. Macarons said the knots reminded him of some sort of a growth. They too went back.

Then there was Getting Hitched by Luichiny:

This shade of purple has always been flattering on me, and the rosettes were a cute detail. After batting 0 and 5, I really wanted these to be it. I liked the way they looked on my feet, but the straps were too loose and my heel kept slipping out. I wasn’t willing to give up, so I exchanged them for a half size smaller. The next pair were way too tight; we’re talking digging-into-my-toes-in-a-matter-of-seconds tight. I was crushed and started to feel like Goldilocks. Maybe I should stop looking for a while. I had plenty of time. But after all the trials I wanted shoes crossed of my list!

MOH Sassy could see I was frustrated and asked me what my dream shoe would be. I told her Randee was it, but that I didn’t think they could be dyed. Sassy kind of looked at me funny and said, “Why would you do that? They have them in purple.” Um, what?! Given my shoe escapades, Sassy was looking for the perfect metallic shoes and stumbled across them on Zappos.

“What are you talking about? Send me the link!” Sure enough, they were there in all their purple glory. The $215 price tag no longer deterred me. I needed to see if I liked them just as much in person.

I.ABSOLUTELY.LOVE.THEM.

PS: Six months later they went on sale, so what did this frugal bride do? She ordered the last pair of eights and returned the full-price ones. Fifty dollars is fifty dollars. Don’t you love Zappos’s return policy?
