Mrs. Brooch's Picture
Mrs. Brooch, Arlington, VA Age and Occupation: 25, Writer/Editor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Front Desk Manager Engagement Date: October 3, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Oxon Hill Manor About Me: I’m an indecisive girlie-girl with a motor mouth, can-do attitude, and knack for making others laugh. I dream of becoming a best selling novelist like Elizabeth Gilbert or Julie Powell (a girl can dream, right?), and love long road trips, a beautiful countryside, music, blogs, books, and all things vintage/thrift/antique/or homemade. I’m a Virgo, i.e. overly sensitive, emotional, and critical, and there’s no such thing as short and sweet in my world. I want to say and do it all. Mr. Brooch grounds me. I point where to go and he figures out the way. He’s a pragmatic fancy-pants who enjoys video games and movies. We both adore our mutt, Rocky, and spending time with our amazingly supportive family and friends. We’re planning a garden wedding with a formal reception with lots of whimsy and unique, Southern-inspired details.
About Mrs. Brooch

I promise… I’m almost ready to start recaps, or at least tell you about our fabulous honeymoon to Costa Rica! I’m waiting for the disc of our pro pics from my mom and a free weekend, but I swear, they’re coming!

In the meantime, a funny thing happened the other day: I caught a glimpse of myself on TV! Woah! When Say Yes to the Dress aired, I honestly forgot about reruns and until recently didn’t realize the power of syndicated television! I figured if the world could see my dress (more than once!), it was certainly time to share it with the hive—after all, you guys were there through them all. So without further ado, here is my Say Yes to the Dress dress! I’ve teased you long enough!

*Deep breath*

Annnd I still love her!!

Oh, you wanted to see the back, too? OK!

*blushes*

With the gorgeous veil, too?

Phew. My heart still skips a beat…

As many of you know, my dress shopping experience was quite the experience (if you haven’t seen the show, you can view it online here). After crying dress one, two, three times, I finally found my way to New York City’s Kleinfeld behind cameras for Say Yes to the Dress.

Um… and she lived happily ever after! Amen!

The absolute best part is that I have no regrets! I love this dress as much as I did when I first tried it on, if not more. When I see the millions of dresses I tried, this is by far my favorite. It’s so nice to look back and love what you wore! Woo hoo! Totally #winning in the dress department!

Did you love your wedding gown on your wedding day? Do you still love it?

Ps. Still waiting on a picture of how your face looked when you came into the reception hall and saw that your FI had arranged for chivari chairs for you :)

You are adorable in that clip. I love Say Yes to the Dress, but I would never be able to go on that show (too much $$, too much attention).

The dress is beautiful.

Somehow, I totally missed that you were on the show, nor did I ever see that episode. You definitely picked the perfect dress–it just took a while to find you!

What a great story to tell your kids/grandkids!

And congrats on your wedding!
