I figure we’ll start off with the special dances and then move into the dancing free-for-all that ensued.
I knew I wanted to do something special for my dad, but I also knew that I didn’t want our dance to be a traditional father-daughter slow dance. Growing up my dad, big sis and I always listened to oldies and one oldie in particular: Do Wah Diddy by Manfred Mann. We even had individual singing parts for the song. I decided this was the perfect father-daughters dance. I invited my sister to join us on the dance floor.
And so we danced and sang!

My dad’s got some serious skills. He twirled both of us at the same time. This song was the perfect choice and we had an absolute blast reliving one of our great childhood memories.
We also planned an anniversary dance. That also didn’t go quite as planned. It was supposed to happen to the sound of Danny Kaye singing The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing. I didn’t realize until it was too late that the song was far too short to use for an anniversary dance. Oh well. It got people out on the dance floor for a couple minutes anyways and they seemed to enjoy themselves.
The next special dance was the only cheesy wedding dance planned. Upon request from my step-dad, we added the Cha Cha Slide to our playlist. (That’s my step-dad on the left. Oh, and my mom on the right and my dad in the background.)

Best picture ever! Look how cute our officiant is! It was super fun! I’m glad we added the dance to our line-up!
