About Mrs. Crepe

I get that this is pretty much beating a dead horse at this point…but I thought I’d share the individual photos of each table number, in the off chance that you wanted to do this yourselves and wanted to see a reference!

Embroidered Table Number DIY: Part III : wedding decor diy nashville reception 5858286 weddingbee ref: table numbers

If you’re on the fence AT ALL about this, here’s my obvious answer:

DO. IT. And that means those of you who already know how to embroider but aren’t sure if it’s worth it. This is NOT towards those of you who would have to learn a new skill just for this project. Because if I sit here and tell you to go do that, someone’s going to slap me in the face. And that someone will probably be, um, every reader here.

There will be people who don’t understand why you would take on a seemingly pointless project. After all, there are lots of people who just have them printed simply, on a single sheet of paper, which is absolutely and perfectly lovely. There will be others who say that the flowers should be the true focus and not the numbers.

The reason why I would encourage you to do something like this is because I am absolutely and utterly bonkers. But also because there will be a million little beautiful details that no one ever notices. When your plate is full of things that must get done before your big day, it can be disheartening when nobody notices some of your hard work. If there’s one thing people will notice, it will be the giant, hand embroidered table numbers. And when they do. Homies, it will make you feel ahmaaaaaayzing.

About those naysayers? That’s just because they don’t see how it could all work together. Every little detail worked together with the numbers. With these guys being 10 inches in diameter, they became so significant within the tablescape that it was completely and utterly worth it. I did them in royal blue but keep in mind that if you’re doing a candlelit space in the evening, they will appear much darker, almost navy sometimes.

I love them! I think it is a special touch since you embroider, which just adds a more personal flair to your reception! I am all about that! (Now, I don’t know how to embroider, so of course, I wouldn’t do it…but instead, I did something with my own flair.) That is what makes weddings so unique!

GORGEOUS!!! I don’t know what my biggest task will be, but the biggest wedding task i’ve ever undertaken in general was embroidering my sister & BIL’s monogram on 250 dinner napkins for the reception for their wedding last year. Everyone thought I was NUTS, but I actually really loved it (um, until the last week, when I realized I had to do the last 50 in one week - eek!) So, I knew I had to something similarly special for my wedding, but couldn’t think of what - but i LOVE your idea and might have to steal it! :)

Did you back them? Can I see the back? I’m always interested the parts you’re not supposed to see.

Thank you so much everyone!!!

@Paper Rose: I backed them with brown kraft paper– you can see part of it in this post here: http://www.weddingbee.com/2011/05/25/embroidered-table-number-diy-part-ii/

Basically I traced the hoop on regular 8×11 sheets of paper. The paper wasn’t big enough so it left a gap at the bottom, which was fine because we needed to hammer the hoop into the stand. The paper is just hot glued onto the back of the hoop. Super simple!

I adore these. And, I totally laughed out loud when I read: “The reason why I would encourage you to do something like this is because I am absolutely and utterly bonkers.” Love you, Crepe!

I love these and want to learn to do this because I love it so much. As for my biggest project, it was making the clay flowers for the bouquets.

Mrs. Crepe, this project makes me soooo sad that I don’t know how to embroider! So beautiful and unique - nice clean lines. Love everything about it!

These are gorgeous and such a lovely detail to add to your day! Question for you: what is next for these numbers? Do you have some crafty way to incorporate them into your home decor as well? Are you selling them? Donating them to a classroom? I need to know the next chapter in their story :)
