A Happy Story About Shoes

June 23rd, 2011 @ 6:42 pm by Mrs. High Wire

You may remember the story from this post. I had a sad tale to tell about some beautiful ballet flats for the wedding day. These were the apple of my eye:

However, it wasn’t meant to be. I didn’t snatch them up when I first saw them, and then they sold out everywhere. Yes, EVERYWHERE.

User NauticalBride2011 commented on that post and suggested a similar pair from Steve Madden called the I-Dreemy that really caught my attention.

On Tuesday nights, I attend my local Lululemon Athletica store to take part in their complimentary yoga class. While waiting for class to start, I noticed a Steve Madden store a few paces down the walkway. So I decided to pop in, see if they had the shoes available, and try them on.

They had them! I snapped a creeper pic of them while waiting for the saleswoman to bring me my size.

They were perfect, folks! Sparkly and a beautiful gold/blush color. Swoon.

I decided to search the internet to see if I could find them for a little cheaper. The in-store price was $100 and I found them on Amazon for $75! But being my indecisive self with this shoe saga, I waited AGAIN and didn’t purchase right away. You can tell where this is headed right?

I go to Amazon today to take another peek and they are back up to $99. Arg! Well, I was sick of playing this stupid waiting game and went ahead and just bought the damn shoes already. Enough is enough right? I went to the online Steve Madden store, and managed to score 15% off, and with shipping and tax they rang in at $99 bucks. Eh..I’ll take it. And I will cross this to-do off of my wedding list already.

So they are officially purchased and I am anxiously awaiting their arrival at my door step!

Did anyone else have a little trouble acquiring their wedding shoes?

Those are Adorable! I found mine online at journeys, went into the nearest store (2 hours away) and they had on left a size 7 im normally a 6 1/2 but these seemed to fit fine, a little big but i plan on putting some cushy liners in them, well the next day i concluded that they did not fit as well as id like, so i returned them on my next trip to the city and ordered and 6 1/2, which has come and gone since it’s too big also, lets hope the 6 fits.

Such cute shoes! So glad this has a happy ending! I also have the habit of waiting for a sale and it not always turning out my way, but this ended well, so I’m happy :)

Love them! I bought those Enzo flats as my reception shoes with the Enzo sparkly heels as my ceremony shoes. BUT, I actually like the Madden flats alot more! They are so pretty. and they are in blush - perfect. :)

I am DREADING my wedding shoe search. I actually started recently, and my first purchase from Zappos will be going back - too big, stuff that I thought was silver was gold, etc. etc. Boooo. I wear a 5.5 - 6ish, and want about a 2.5 inch heel or lower…which is basically impossible to find in anything half cute. I Love your flats though, maybe I’ll have to look for something like those!

Congrats on finding your shoes!!!
I am absolutly dreading my shoe search. Well I dread shoe shopping to begin with, but this is going to be even more painful. I wear a size 12-13 so its near impossible to find cute and my size in the first place, let alone a shoe this important.

@plantains yes that is true, but then comes the obsene ammount of money shipping them back and forth, sense no size is always a match for me and sometimes even the 13 doesn’t fit. (learned this the hard way) So I just stick to places like Brucettes Shoes, Payless and one or two other stores that carry my size and wait for a style to pop up that works for me.

I saw 3 pairs of those Enzo’s at Marshall’s (I’m in GA) yesterday in the clearance section. Might want to check at some discount retailers.

Glad you were able to score them! I went to great lengths to buy my wedding shoes (http://www.weddingbee.com/2011/04/29/purple-wedding-shoes-4/) and then a month later they went on sale for $99. Oh well, at least I have them and I love them! And…they may just be on my feet right now here at work. Gotta break them in, right?

Those are gorgeous! It’s smart that you’re choosing to wear flats, my husband is a foot taller than me so there was a huge pressure to wear heels–worst decision ever!
