About Mrs. Pony

A while back I discussed wanting to find a way to incorporate my love of quotes into our wedding. And, after much discussion, the Ponies have decided on a wedding quote!

What is a wedding quote, you wonder? Well, it is a quote that we will incorporate into as many of our wedding details as possible without overdoing it (maybe. hopefully. sometimes I just don’t know when to stop.). I am thinking our wedding quote will be included on our programs, displayed in gobo form at the reception, similar to the one below:

We might stick our quote a few other places here and there throughout the wedding as well, we’ll just have to see where it looks good.

Now, you are probably wondering which quote we chose to represent the ultimate day of our love (aka the Pony wedding or a really bad romance novel—you decide).

I made a huge document listing all of my favorite love quotes. I used the internet, my magnets, the various quote books I have lying around to compile a lengthy list of quotes. I presented my list to Mr. Pony from there we found three that we liked best:

“In dreams and in love there are no impossibilities.” -Joseph Arany

“Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.” -Robert Browning

“All you need is love” -John Lennon & Paul McCartney

All three were excellent quotes, but after discovering a photo I had taken during our engagement trip in Savannah, we had a clear winner:

Although we don’t quite have the history with this quote as do the Cheeseburgers, the sentiment is perfect for our wedding and it makes me smile every time I see it or think about it in little elements throughout our wedding day.

Do you have a quote that represents your relationship? Are you having a reoccurring element throughout your wedding?

What a great quote, and so cool to have the “history” with it! I think we’re using “You are my happy ending,” to sort of go with our book theme (yup, huge nerds. All books all the time!)

We had a phrase that gradually worked its way into our wedding until it became the unofficial theme! Your quote is so sweet. Love that it has ties to your engagement trip.

@ThePinkPeony: That’s so cute, it goes perfectly with your theme!
@Mrs. Pain au Chocolat: I’d love to hear it!
@Mrs. Elephant: Thanks!
@mrs.josh: Yay! I love quotes, so I hope you do it!
@Chibop: I love that! I wanted to use it, but Mr. P wasn’t as crazy about it.
@LauraAlmostAbel: I can’t remember exactly, but I think it was in Chatham Square in historic Savannah. I know it was a square and based on my order of pictures, so that’s my best guess. Hope you can find it!
@mariewest: Thanks!

We have a quote that has sort of worked its way into our wedding as well… “Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” (from Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte). I’ve always liked it, and my fiance bought me a bracelet that had that quote engraved on it for my birthday. It just sort of found its way onto the programs and into the vows. I am wearing the bracelet on the wedding day, and I’m having his cufflinks engraved with it too. I’m so excited to hear that other people are quote-obsessed too! I thought I was the only one!

I’ve always loved that quote. I’m planning on doing a collage with our engagement session photos and having that incoperated in the collage somehow. We’re actually using a poem called “The Way” by an unknown author on our STD’s and in the OOT Bag notes attatched to the maps.

OMG I LOVE the idea of incorporating a quote into your wedding! I’ve always been an avid lover of quotes! I may just have to do something similar. Good choice on the quote too!
