Mrs. Lemonade's Picture
Mrs. Lemonade, Austin/San Antonio Age and Occupation: 28, Bureaucrat Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Music Management Engagement Date: December 21, 2007 Wedding Date: April, 2009 Blogging Since: August 22, 2008 Venue: Country Club ceremony, ballroom reception About Me: I’m a total wonkette who is lucky enough to be surrounded by her favorite things on a daily basis – awesome music, the great State of Texas and of course, Mr. Lemonade! I find any excuse I can to craft something and am completely infatuated with the 1950’s, all things Kennedy, and my furbaby Vida.
About Mrs. Lemonade

Admittedly I have rather questionable taste in television programming. My DVR is chock full of every installment of the Housewives series, I watched the hell out of RuPaul’s Drag U, I may or may not have a countdown clock set for the next season of the Rachel Zoe Project, and I’m far too excited about Ice Loves Coco.

However, despite all of this I never got into the Bachelor/Bachelorette…until this season. And the kicker? Mr. L happily watches along side of me. So why the sudden interest in one of televisions most riveting and quality programs? Is it because of Ashley’s amazing fashion sense? Has my little black heart finally warmed to the idea that one can find true love on national television? Um, no. It’s all because of this guy:

Not ringing any bells? How about now:

Still nothing? Ok, fine. How about now?

Hey, Ryan err, Mickey!

Some of my more astute readers had already made the connection and I’ve been receiving tweets and emails regarding the show since it premiered. Now that he’s left the mansion (of his own accord, BRAVO!) I am more than happy to accept bribes for introductions.

However, in the spirit of full disclosure I must admit that it’s really more like 3 degrees of separation as I had not had the pleasure of meeting him until the day before my wedding. His friendship with my husband far pre-dates me and there may or may not be some incredibly blackmail-tastic photos of the two of them as child models. What I can say is that he really is that handsome in person and is a quality guy to boot. Mr. L and I both are incredibly proud of him and can’t wait to see where he ends up next. Oh, and we’re pretty elated we no longer have to watch the show. It was painful, and that’s coming from someone who willingly watches hours on end of this and this oh, and this.

Are you watching The Bachelorette this season? What are your thoughts? You know you have opinions! :)

I never got into the Bachelor/Bachelorette series. Infact, my only reality guilty pleasure is 16 and Pregnant… I can’t explain why… it’s like a bad car accident, I can’t look away!

I also never got into the Bachelor/ette, although I’m the only girl in our family that doesn’t. Rock of Love though? Totally there. :)

Hook a fellow Texan girl up! I was so happy to see him leave the show last night because it was the right move to make, but I’ll miss seeing him every Monday night.

Crazy - Last night, a friend from grad school told me that she works with Mickey’s aunt - he visited the school and everything. Granted, I know that’s a few more degrees of separation than you have, but still!

OH, I watch pretty much everything you do- and probably more reality! I loooove it! I do watch bachelorette and was sad to see Micky go, but he can do better! Awesome that you guys know him!

Oh that’s hilarious. I thought Mickey was awesome, but he was super intense during the boat competition, lol.
All the good guys keep leaving, I don’t think this is going to turn out very well…

I watched a couple of seasons of the bachelor/ette shows, but none in the last couple of years. I did also want to say that Mr. E and I love storage wars!

I thought he was awesome! She is terrible anyway, and he can do so much better. Seriously.

I never watched it but got sucked in to last nights episode while flipping through the channels. That chick blew it, he was by far the hottest guy there!

I loved Mickey’s exit, by far the best ever! I was definitely on his side and would have done the same thing!

Tell Mickey he can do WAYYYYY better!

I don’t watch the Bachelor/ette, but I’m totally going to watch last night’s show now! It sounds like Mickey made the right decision! He’s sure to find a better girl out there!

Mickey= hot. Loved him. I think my husband got tired of me sighing every time they would show him on the tv. ;)

I had been on a Bachelor/Bachelorette boycott until this season. This season has a car-crash type quality to it that make it hard to look away, even though it’s a total disaster.

I am pretty unashamedly obsessed with The Bachelorette. What Ashley lacks in confidence, we all gain in drama. So. Much. Drama.

I swear it’s like a lot of people can play 6 degrees of Mickey it seems. Am I right???

Mickey for the next Bachelor!!!

I watched a season of the Bachelor/ette way back in the day when there was a gal from Kalamazoo on there. However, now my curiousity is piqued about this exit and I may need to do some digging!

He had a great exit - loads of integrity and can you say HOTTIE! He can do much better than to be with a girl so insecure and immature.

Fingers crossed for future bachelor potential! lol :oP

I’m a fan of the show, I became addicted after a girl from my town was on the Bachelor. I agree with Pengy, where confidence is lacked, entertainment is gained.

I’m a big fan of the show. I just watched it on my dvr. This is the craziest season ever. Ditto to Mickey for the next Bachelor! :)

Uhhh I may or may not have written a thread about fantasizing about Mickey. How embarrassing!!! He’s drop dead gorgeous, so sweet, and I love how he stood up for himself! He definitely needs to be the next Bachelor. Or my pool boy. I think he’d like the pool boy gig better no? LOL! ;)
