About Mrs. Candy Apple

Mini Me

July 1st, 2011 @ 9:42 am by Mrs. Candy Apple

On our wedding day, I want to keep a reminder of the Hive with me—you all mean so much, and this has been such a wonderful outlet as I have continued my planning. So, I thought it would be fun to carry a little pint-sized bit of bee love with me!

Like Pain au Chocolat and other bees before me, I decided that I absolutely needed an itty bitty candy apple charm that replicated my adorable moniker. Mrs. Tartlet pointed me in the direction of Etsy seller Petit Plat. I checked out her work and was blown away by her teensy, amazing little creations. Her food miniatures look so life-like! (I am really infatuated with her mini “English Breakfast” plate.)

Anyway, she didn’t have a candy apple on her site, but she said that she could whip one up for me. I could not be more pleased with how it turned out!

I am a little bit in love with cool Etsy packaging. Sellers are really stepping up their game in the creativity department!

Look familiar?

I love the little green bow, and the way she made the “candy” pool at the bottom. It looks so realistic; Stéphanie did such a great job. I love my little mini me!

So, Hive, help me out here. Where shall I keep the charm on our wedding day? Sewn onto a ribbon, or something, on my bouquet? Incorporated into my shoes somehow, like Mrs. Elephant? Sewn into my dress? Some other way that I’m not considering at the moment? I’m leaning towards the shoe option, but would love to hear your creative ideas!

Oh I love the way it looks. I agree I think on your shoe would be cute especially if you had two and you could put them across the back of your shoe but at least on the bouquet if nothing else jumps out at you.

If you’re wearing a veil, how about attaching it to the veil sorta up top?

CA, it is perfect! I would want it somewhere close to me the whole day without being in every single picture, so I think your shoes would be perfect.

In your bouquet? That way it would be in so many pictures but it wouldn’t be totally in your face–only people who know about it would look for it :)

How about putting it on an anklet? Then you could wear it after the wedding if you wanted to. Besides, miniature food is wicked adorable.

I think it might get lost in the bouquet, depending how intricate it is. I would think a simple bracelet and have it hanging from your wrist the day of. Perhaps on the hand of your engagement ring, so in photo opp close-ups the mini candle apple can dangle in site of your beautiful ring and new wedding band!

I’m with meerkat and elephant – this charm is cuter than words and makes me want a little ostrich, too.
I think sewing it into you bouquet would be so sweet!
