The morning of the wedding, the Starfish Girls asked me what song I’d be playing for the bouquet toss. I told them I wasn’t doing one. They seemed a bit surprised, especially since our wedding was on the traditional side. They kind of expected it, but what they didn’t know is I had something else planned for the bouquet.
The night of the wedding, I was dancing away when I heard my cue.
I had asked the D.J. to play Bridesmaid M and her boyfriend’s (let’s call him Jessie) song as a surprise. As soon as it came on, I ran off the dance floor, grabbed my bouquet and ran over to bridesmaid M. I pretty much yelled “Bridesmaid M” and as soon as she looked up, the bouquet was flying in her direction. I had been planning this “toss” for months. Bridesmaid M is one of my best friends and I have probably been waiting more anxiously for a proposal for her than she is—we have very few married friends, and I’m looking forward to having a few more. Jessie is awesome and I can’t wait until he’s officially a part of our family (Bridesmaid M is also my cousin).
Every time we go out, I request their song. Since they’ve been dating, I don’t think we’ve gone out together without having their song played. It’s become a joke amongst our friends.
Jessie kept saying he couldn’t propose until after our wedding, so I thought this would be a fun “hint” that he didn’t have to wait anymore. When I planned the toss, I thought BM M and Jessie would get a laugh out of it, but I got a totally different reaction.
After I tossed the bouquet, she gave me a big hug and started to cry.
It ended up being one of my favorite moments of the wedding. Throughout the rest of the night, we found her walking around with the bouquet. It was by her side during Shout, Sweet Caroline, Don’t Stop Believing and every song in-between. I don’t think she let go of it all night. I heard she may have even slept with it…
It’s been funny going through the guests’ pictures, because I thought people were exaggerating, but pictures don’t lie. The bouquet did not leave her side.

This is so sweet! My friend got married last fall, and at the after party while I was sitting with my-then boyfriend, she came over and handed it to me and loudly shouted to everyone that we were next!! It was so hilarious and sweet at the same time 
We got engaged 5 months later, and I still have her bouquet in a vase in our dining room
I LOVE this story! What a great idea and a wonderful thing to do for a friend! I love the pictures - you can tell she was thrilled. Adorable!

We’re gonna do a bouquet toss and garter toss (or something like that…) and since we’ve got A LOT of friends who are engaged/in a serious relationship, it’ll be fun to see who steps up and who catches it! (then there will be much mischief afterwards, I’m sure! LOL!)
I’m not planning a bouquet toss either but my best friend and MOH asked if I would at least toss her the bouquet in the bathroom haha
I was at my Bestfriends wedding, and little to my knowledge my boyfriend was planning on proposing later that night after the wedding was over. He told a couple people at the wedding his plans and it got back to the bride and groom. They secretly planned to throw the bouquet and garder in our direction to hopefully catch them. We both caught them and I was loving it, but still had no clue about what would happen later that night. When we got home he had at hundreds of candles and roses spread out over his pool deck and popped the question! Love telling people the story how we both caught the garder and bouquet the day he proposed!
i had a traditional toss bouquet for all my girls. but my bridal bouquet i gave to my nana since she was sick and couldnt attend the wedding. i gave it to her the day after the wedding!!
