Before we get into the big surprise, a little back story. Mr. Cloud and I are HORRIBLE at keeping secrets. Horrible as in we can’t do it. With the exception of my engagement ring, every present he has ever given me was opened weeks before its intended holiday. And even the ring was given that afternoon, instead of at dinner like he planned. Well, not this time. This time he was sneeeeaaakky, sneaky, sneaky! I had my suspicions that something was up months before after seeing some random PVC pipe hanging out in our garage, but he blamed it on one of our friends who had been storing some stuff with us and I never thought about it again. But then after I threw my bouquet, everything made sense, and it came to this..

I know, what the hell does this have to do with PVC pipe and big secrets? Let’s back up a bit.

First of all you need to know Mr. Cloud is a huge Michael Jackson fan. And I mean HUGE. He owns the albums, the videos, the books. Me, not so much before we met. Obviously I knew who Michael Jackson was, but the only song I was ever a big fan of was The Way You Make Me Feel. So in the beginning we listened to that on repeat a lot. So I could sing along, of course. Then Mr. C shared this little clip with me—Michael’s 1988 Grammy performance.

I thought it was pretty cool, Mr. Cloud thought it was AWESOME. So back to the story, if you remember one of our groomsmen had sat me down after I launched tossed the bouquet, and Best Man ordered me to stay put with no peeking. When someone, somewhere, gave a cue I was turned around and this is what I saw.

Ooooh, so there is that damn PVC piping (they somehow rigged the piping to extend on top of speaker stands and hold a curtain, DIYers after my own heart)! I was trying to point it out to the groomsman too, but he kept telling me to sit down and watch. So I did, and the music started.

Yep, my hubs has a few bad ass MJ moves up his sleeve! I found out about this talent of his shortly after we started dating and am constantly asking him to show off his skills. Unfortunately it takes a few adult beverages for him to bust them out, so we don’t see them too often. So my wedding gift was a full on performance! The pictures really don’t do it justice…

I. LOVED. IT. And was 100% completely surprised (you know in case you couldn’t tell by the look on my face in the video!) Not in my wildest dreams is this what I thought he was up to!
