About Mrs. Macarons

Remember the hair flower I was making? It hasn’t changed other than the fact it’s now buried somewhere in the abyss known as my crafting tub. Many of you recommended a pearly/sparkly brooch for the center but after several trips to thrift stores and searching on eBay I couldn’t find anything quite right. I wasn’t willing to invest any more time or money into it so I swallowed my crafting pride and bought one instead.

After attempting the flower myself I determined I wanted all feathers. Enter the Feather Fascinator by Londonxox.

I ordered it with ivory feathers and little less full than pictured. Isn’t it pretty? Londonxox was really quick when it came to shipping too.

Sometiems it’s just better to bring in the pros, I was going to attempt to diy my hair and makeup, but defiitely realized that would not be good haha. I love the hair flower you picked!

I’m normally relieved with only a tiny bit of guilt for paying for something. :-)

It’s so pretty! I feel a little relief and a little guilt, just like Magic said. One, because I had to spend money and two because I am too hard on myself and think I should diy anything and everything.

In the beginning I told myself that I was going to DIY everything! But it didn’t take long for me to realize that I wouldn’t be doing myself any favors by doing that! I’m with you! The hair flower is something I’m leaving to the proffesionals!

I, as well, gave up on the fascinator and bought it. I felt guilty but I know I have limited time and the one I got was beautiful and quite similar to the top picture of yours:

It’s ok to prioritize your projects.

I had this grand idea that I would bake our wedding cupcakes and that I would learn how to decorate them. I’m SO relieved I abandoned that plan and called in the pros.

So delicate and pretty! I had high hopes of making my own padded wedding hanger but decided to leave it to the pros.

Hah, yeah. I was going to make my own birdcage veil but then when I bought my dress they stuck a hair piece on me (similar to yours actually) and I bought it, $80 and all. I figured my efforts wouldn’t be cost-effective. I was also going to do found-paper invitations, make our own cake toppers, and most memorably, do all our own flowers. We got a friend to do the invitations, are buying the cake topper from Etsy, and hired a florist. Them’s the breaks!

@Miss Pony: Definitely how I felt towards the beginning. I’ve tried to let go of a lot of things early on to save my sanity.
@Mrs. Upton: I’m glad you loved it! I’m so excited and can’t wait to try it on at my first fitting.
@Miss Sparkler: Tell me about it. Where has the time gone?!
