We’re hosting a laid-back, vintage-inspired, bird themed wedding with heavy doses of love, good eats (did someone say tacos and margaritas?), and endless Texas charm. All Moved In

July 5th, 2011 @ 5:30 pm by Mrs. High Wire

Whew. What a weekend.

All Moved In : wedding dallas 261368

We’re officially living in our first house!

Once we were all moved in and ready to start unpacking, I got slammed with a chest cold. Boo! I tried to do as much nesting as possible, but my energy levels are really low due to this illness.

I am absolutely loving our new place. The house is a lot bigger than our apartment, so it feels really spacious and luxurious for only two people! I can’t wait to fill it with babies—I’ll just go ahead and say it.

The energy in the house is really wonderful. I already felt at home within about an hour of getting everything moved in. It is perfect for entertaining (which we love to do) and I’m already imagining the wonderful memories we are going to have while living here.

I can’t wait to start exploring the neighborhood on my bike, but my stupid cold (can you tell I HATE getting sick?!) and the 100+ degree temperatures outside are hampering my abilities to get out and enjoy our new neighborhood. I also have to, you know, go to work. But I know I’ll get to explore soon enough!

While helping us move, my aunt and uncle brought over several boxes of incredible vintage treasures to use for wedding decor. I can’t wait to show you all of the loot! One night my mom and I unwrapped each little item and squealed with each new discovery.

My wedding dress and wedding shoes are tucked safely away in our new big, beautiful closet. And a wedding-related delivery is set to arrive on our doorstep today:

We’re there!

Did you move in with your FI before or after the wedding?

we moved in together after the wedding and I hope we would’ve at least gotten the house ready before— we got back from the mini-moon to move boxes and clean and put together a bed… no fun at all and very stressful!

I like the way you’re moving!!! And can’t wait to see pics of your vintage treasure to decorate XD

We cohabitated well before the wedding… like year one. With all the wedding stuff, we’re still getting settled in.

My fiance and I moved in together several years ago. It wasn’t what I had planned, and still the majority of my family and church congregation do not know we live together. But it happened out of necessity - bad timing, needing to save money, blah blah blah. And I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Yaaaaaaaay! Isn’t it such a great feeling having all that open space? We just moved into a condo that’s double the size of our old apartment, and I feel like I’m in a palace! I hope your cold is all better and that you can enjoy your new home to the fullest. :)

We lived together for about a year in an apartment before getting engaged.. then about 5 months into our engagement, we bought a home :) It’s been such an amazing time for us! Although we do feel the weight of the dollar a bit more now! Luckily, it’s nothing good old fashioned budgeting can’t help!

All the best and get well soon!

You remind me of Tara Costa from the Biggest Loser (at the end of the show of course!) particularly in this photo.

Congratulations on you first home purchase! Mr. Cucumber Sammie and I bought a house together last year. I am still amazed at how quickly I managed to fill the house with stuf after coming from a tiny apartment!
