Mrs. Bacon, Chicago Age and Occupation: 26, Digital Advertising Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, IT Client Services Engagement Date: June 17, 2010 Wedding Date: September 2011 Venue: Ravenswood Billboard Factory About Me: I'm a Midwestern girl that can't seem to commit to staying in one place for too long and is constantly daydreaming about my next adventure. I am an aspiring foodie with a weak spot for the unusual and I love semi-reality food television. My other loves easily include laughing as a form of exercise, a book that I can't put down, summer baseball games, espresso with whipped cream, couch potato days and nights with the ridiculous Mr. Bacon, and our two kitties, Lincoln and Sawyer. We're planning a faux-destination wedding for 150 of our closest friends and family in the city we've both adopted as home that has a modern, yet whimsical twist and as many personal touches as we can manage.
About Mrs. Bacon

I don’t have a twin, but I do have two dresses! Two dresses clearly means that I have two pairs of coordinating shoes, right? Right?!?

I’m obsessed with my shoes for my white dress. As you might remember, the plan has always been to get red canvas TOMS to wear on the big day, so when I was perusing the internet trying to figure out who had cheapest shipping, I stumbled on a Nordstrom exclusive:

Red. Sequined. TOMS. Clearly I had to have them, so they were ordered in minutes and delivered to my doorstep in few (very long) days. Words cannot fully explain how excited I was to open the box and hold my wedding shoes in my grubby hands. I immediately modeled them for the Baconator and the cats, obviously they were all very impressed. I had to stash them away because I’m likely to throw them on and try to wear them outside the house… simply because I have them and I can… But really, how can you not fall in love with these babies?

Anyway, I digress. The point is, these red sparkly beauties totally clash with my red cheongsam, so I just had to buy a second pair of shoes to go with my Chinese dress. The harsh truth is that the cheongsam is a few inches too long, so I really needed some kick ass heels to level out the length. Enter a one day online sale and a pair of fabulous t-strap heels.

I love that the detail on the toes resembles the frog buttons on my cheongsam, and the t-strap adds a certain retro charm that is fantastic. Despite the crazy high stiletto heel, I can clip clop around the house without pain. Besides, these shoes with my Chinese dress mean that I get to have my shoe dreams come true, even though I’m wearing comfy flats for the Western ceremony.

Are you wearing two pairs of shoes on your big day? What is your reason?

I was looking for a more comfortable back up but that all changed when I found my going away/after party dress. Now I’m on the hunt for yet another pair of heels since my badgleys clash.

Two shoes?!?! A bride after my own heart. I would probably have 4-5 pairs of shoes for my wedding day if I could…. my first look shoes, my ceremony shoes, my reception shoes…. the list goes on and on. I love both your shoes!
