Lookie at what came in the mail!!

It’s my bridal shower invitation! The High Wires have kept it pretty old school in the invitation department with fill-in-the-blank invites for both our engagement party and now for the Dallas area bridal shower (I have another one scheduled in August in Mr. High Wire’s hometown). I love this invitation! It feels so special that my mom sat down and filled out each of these with her own beautiful handwriting.

I can’t wait to get together with all of my close female friends and family to share in this special gathering. And, just to keep it real for you guys, I’m stoked about upgrading a bunch of our household items. Up until this point, we’ve been living off of mismatched hand-me-downs and cheap stuff from college which have served us well, but are most definitely past their prime.

My mom and my aunt are going to put together a lovely event. I have no doubt in my mind. The plan is to mingle, open some gifts, and enjoy each other’s company, i.e., no games. Think the event will still be enjoyable?

Moms have the best hand writing! Hope you have a lovely shower, I had a blast at mine. It was so nice to be surrounded by so many wonderful ladies who worked so hard to make my day special.

Have a blast at your shower! Like you, we were living off of hand me downs and old college kitchenware that was well past it’s prime.

My BM’s shower didn’t have games and it was still tons of fun! When you have ladies, food, and presents you’ll never get bored

My mom has this same beautiful handwriting! So much so, I was thinking about volunteering (voluntold?) her to write out escort tags for a special touch. These old school invites definitely remind me of my mom and aunts. In fact, my mom still thinks this is a legit way to do the wedding invites too! If only things were so simple still! Let’s bring these back in vogue for all occasions

Oh, and I’m having two bridal showers that I know of…one in each place where a lot of family lives (and myself, in neither!) The first one is a big surprise…apparently they booked some interesting place to rent out for the day somewhere in/near San Antonio. It could be Chucky Cheese or Hill Country rental house or a vineyard type. I have no idea and hate secrets!!!

Oh, I so feel you on the mismatched hand-me-downs and cheap-o collegeware. There’s something about upgrading them that makes you feel more grown up! Your mom has beautiful handwriting.

My bridesmaid who is putting together the shower with my mother is amazing, so I expect great things in a few months when I have my shower. I really love the invitation to your shower. It seems elegant, personal, and intimate. Just perfect.
