About an hour before the ceremony started, our photographer led me into the Sunday school room and made sure I was hidden behind a wall partition for our non-first look. Then, he brought in Mr. Hyena through the other door, between this room and where the guys were getting ready. Mr. Hyena reached around the wall for me, and I put my hand in his.
I’ll admit, I was sneaky. I did try to get a peek at Mr. Hyena. I saw part of his face. 
He did not try to sneak a look.
It was so nice just to be together before the ceremony. It was nice to hold his hand. I felt so calm and happy.
We took a little time to talk about how our mornings were going, and also a minute to just be silent together.
I’m pretty sure I asked him if it was too late to elope.
Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye, and I really didn’t want to go. I wanted to keep holding his hand. I wanted to see him. I wanted to stay with him until it was time to get married. But that was not the plan.
So we said, “See you in a little while!” and went to our separate rooms after one last hand squeeze.

Aww, this is so cute! We are doing an actual first look since we aren’t traditional. I love the non first looks though. It still gives you a moment to be together before the ceremony without seeing each other.
This is so cute! I kind of wish I had known about this before our wedding but it seems to be a new thing these days. Love that you can still get pics together beforehand and have a moment together without “ruining” your idea of the walk down the aisle!
Beautiful pictures! my husband and I did this exact same thing - it was really nice to be able to talk to him and hold his hand before walking down the aisle but still not spoiling the surprise - it was actually my photographers idea, she wanted to get the shot. Thank God for her, being able to talk to him briefly really calmed my nerves. Its a great alternative to a first look and I’m really glad we did it.
so very sweet - we haven’t talked about waiting or have a moment ahead of the ceremony to see each other …. not sure whether it’ll be good for my make-up if we wait LOL I’ll be crying the moment I see him at the end of the aisle ….. pro’s a con’s ladies to both sides ……
What is the bible verse on the sign? It’s cute!
@Makaila: the verse is Ephesians 5:1-2 — “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love.”

We’re doing a first look (might as well since we’ll be seeing each other all day and right up to the ceremony…plus he’s mixing drinks before the ceremony with all the wedding party and vendors :P).
Still love these pictures, though. They’re so sweet and perfect for anyone who doesn’t want an actual “first look”.
very sweet! I am doing a first look for my wedding, I don’t really like the idea at first but our photographer recommended that we should utilize her and use her time wisely, plus more pictures for us!
These are adorable! I am hoping to take some with us on either end of our reception door. I have seen some picutes like them and they turn out amazing!
This is so adorable! We all just got goosebumps reading this story!! It is a great idea for those who do not want to see each other before the wedding, but still would like the comfort of talking to each other!
Aww… that’s so sweet! I kept scrolling down to look for the actual first look, but LOVE that you kept it an (almost) surprise. Yay!
I don’t know how you didn’t jump around the corner and into his arms! This is a sweet way to do a “first look”.
